Welcome Yassy :) are you thinking about seeing a Dr? D |
Yes I have been to my local alcohol clinic & I'm waiting for my appointment to see their health & well being team. The doctor there will assess me. X |
I was terrified when I went to the local alcohol clinic for assessment a few weeks ago but so glad I did.. I came home from work today and he was waiting on the couch with a few packed bags. He's done. This is what alcohol does...it leaves everything in ruins. Here's to new beginnings and getting healthy again...mind body and spirit. Yassy, you're so young and have a whole life ahead of you that can be whatever you want it to be. :) |
I want to welcome you too Yassy - we're so glad you reached out for some help. You're doing a brave and wise thing - wish I had at your age. Instead I kept trying to manage it - with terrible results. You'll feel so much better being free of it. :) |
Hello everybody! How you all doing today? Hope your all ok |
Hey yassy i'm great thanks :) how are you doing today? |
Hi. I'm feeling quite bad today had to take sleeping tablet to help me sleep last night. Really want a drink. But trying my best to not have one. X |
Have you tried doing a bit of exercise when you get a craving? Also, cravings are always temporary, it should pass x Hang in there :) |
I'm eating a lot ha I'm going to be a fatty. Going swimming with my mum tomorrow & going to try get back gym one I feel a bit better x |
yeah I found eating comfort food helped alot for the first few days. Plenty of chocolate hehe |
Hey Yassy, I felt like I was gorging myself those last two weeks when I quit. I especially liked sweets, anything with chocolate. So treat yourself! As long as you cut all the alcohol out you'll be amazed at what your body is capable of. I lost around 4lbs, not much but I was surprised with everything I was eating. Alcohol robs your body of nutrients and your appetite so, in the beginning eat what you crave! Light exercise is good too, start building those muscles back up. I went on lots of long walks the first week and then jogging when I felt up to it. Keep it up! Working out also increases serotonin in your brain temporarily, good for fighting off those sudden cravings for alcohol. |
Haha I can't stop eating crisps & bread etc just all carbs ha x |
what's your favourite flavour crisps? :D I love prawn cocktail! |
Ha I love salt & vinegar or salted. And chicken flavour haha. Cheese ones too haha! I like all crisps!!! Just watching a film with my sis & eating lots of sweets x |
Hi Iv messed up!!! Sat here drinking I'm so angry right now! Why did I have to mess up?!!! Can't stop crying |
Check out the quote below with the stepping stones. I found it inspiring. I messed up a few hundred times when I told myself i was going to quit, so do many others with addiction. Think of it as something you can learn from and whatever you do, don't give up. Pick yourself backup and continue forward. Stay with us. |
Thank you!!! X |
