havent been drunk in 2 weeks...

...but I am struggling today. And its not cuz its NYE. I am wanting to drink to numb the pain of my live in boyfriend being out of town all the time for his job. He was supposed to come home yesterday and then today and now that's not happening. It's been a week since I saw him and things are rocky because he is always gone. Ugh. Just had to vent. Hope I don't drink tonight...

I am also sober two weeks today. Drinking won't fix anything, bT. And if you've detoxed before, it can actually make things much, much worse.

Sorry about not being able to be with your boyfriend.

I wish you would accept your signature line "if you think you can or can't, your're right" , that is a good one.

Hope is something we seek when we don't have control over the outcome. I hope the best for you tonight and all your other ones too.

I'm sorry you;'re down bT...but there is support and company here tonight.

I hope it's not too long before your bf gets home - wouldn't it be great to greet him sober ? :)

One of the most valuable lessons I've learned here is NOT to drink over others.

His absence is not going to change, nor are your feelings about it, if you drink.

The solution lies in sober thinking and conversation rather than drunken rambling and impaired decision making.

You can do this. Hang here and read and post and wake up tomorrow with a clear head and sharp mind to think about your situation and start looking for solutions. Poor me is not going to accomplish anything. Be proactive and look for an answer :)

Lisa, that was one of the things that used to push me to drink too. And, as I'm sure you know, it not only doesn't help, it makes things worse. Hopefully your boyfriend will get home soon. If the working out of town arrangement isn't working for you, maybe you can find a way to talk it over with him.

Whether you drink tonight is all up to you? Have you decided yet?

I am sure it is hard, missing your guy when he is away, but there is so much more you can do than just sitting there with a bottle in front of you, and almost anything else you might choose is better for you, and for your bf too.

For me, it was a revelation and a relief to finally understand that I didn't have to drink anymore, for any reason. I just didn't have to, it was up to me to choose.
