Welcome to SR! :wavey: Glad you are here. You will find lots of support here. Keep posting. We do recover. |
Thank you :0) |
:welcome to SR! I used to just drink in the afternoon, then it got to be all day and night. I drank anytime I was awake. :( I finally wanted to be sober more than I wanted to drink and have now been sober four years. :) If I can do it, so can you. :) |
Welcome Pitsea :) SR has been a godsend to me - the support I found here helped me change my life :) I know we can help you do the same :) D |

Thank you guys. It's going to be hard but it will well worth it. |
Huh? |
Welcome Pitsea. I'm only a few weeks in, but this site has made the difference for me. I jumped in cold turkey too, and the first few days can be rough, but things got better sooner than I expected. Hang in there, and keep us posted. As you can tell we're up late (or early for you) when you need us. Lots of us going through the same thing. |
Good on you for addressing your drinking. Getting married was a huge wake up call for me. The sleepwalking sounds scary, it's probably time for you to tackle this once and for all. Kids know if your intoxicated and even if they are very young they sense things are not right. My father was an alcoholic and even as a very small child I remember sensing something was a bit off about him and was wary. He was never violent just acted a bit weird. This can be a new start for you and your family. I wish you all the best! |
Well day 2 and I've had the most stressful day at work and all I can think of is having a drink as if it will solve the problems. I know it won't. Gonna keep busy :0) |
Drinking never solved any problem I had,but it made them worse. Good news that you are going to keep busy, check in here and stay away from the first drink. |
Thank you. Talking on here takes it off my mind |
Stay posting and reading, the great thing is there is someone here 24/7. It is difficult in the early days,it does get better, that is a promise. |
Still finding it hard at the moment. Feel tired and low at the moment. Going to go get a energy drink now lol |
Welcome! If you drink anything like I did then "cutting down" will be an exhausting waste of time. Set down the glass and don't look back. This is one chasm you can't cross with three short jumps. |
Feeling tired and low. Any ways of taking my mind off it? Any tricks/tips |
Yes!!! Read a book. Go for a walk. Go get a piece of chocolate. Go to a movie. Call a friend. Adopt a shelter animal. Take a drive. Go out to eat. Play a game. Paint. Sketch. Watch a funny program. Paint your nails. Get your hair done. |

Thanks dee. That was a good helpful read. Why did she cut caffeine? I have been drinking a lot of coffee and energy drinks lately. Will this make it worse |
