With the holiday season coming up thought we could share some ideas for non non alcoholic drinks

I am not such a fan of sweet drinks
some things I enjoy...

~ sparkling water with unsweetened lime and a dash of real maple syrup
~ gingerbeer, the gingerier the better
~ ginger kombucha
~ nice cup-of-tea (has to be said in English accent)

Black coffee, but after noon I switch to decaf.

Sleepy Time tea with lemon at night.

V8 juice + lots of tobasco + freshly ground black pepper + worcester sauce

The tobasco provides the required 'kick' but without the alcohol.

The sparkling water and maple syrup sounds like a very nice holiday drink! Never thought of that.

I drink hot cocoa...365 days a year...actually make mine with very little sweetener...

But probably not practical at most holiday gatherings. I really am a water drinker, twist of lime or lemon. Save money and calories. I do my mug of cocoa in the morning, then water the rest of the day.

Funny thing I noticed is that when I am a guest at people's houses they feel weird not being able to get me coffee, tea, juice etc. Like they feel like poor hosts when all I ask for is water.

Diet ginger ale, of all things. Go figure. If you haven't tried it, give it, um, a shot. :D

Q ginger ale - can be found at Whole Foods

For me it's seltzer water.
I have to watch my sugar intake so that is my drink of choice.

Gallons of green tea or water with lemon!!

Black coffee - the stronger the better! Have bought some decaf for my filter to try and start cutting down the caffeine a bit. Other than that I drink cola, soda water and lime, apple juice, mango juice, blueberry juice, elderflower presse, ginger beer, ginger ale and green tea.

The main thing I've noticed the couple of times I've been at events is it's hard to drink the quantity of liquid along with others who are drinking alcohol. I never noticed before really but after 2 large soda water and limes I'm kinna full!

I drink a TON of coffee and my creamer is what makes it holiday-ish. Right now I'm using sugar free pumpkin spice and peppermint mocha flavored creamer. I do like a good diet ginger ale and diet root beer. I have never been a big water drinker, it needs to have some flavor for me to drink it.

Goog point nightswimming. I noticed that last night. I went to a comedy show and barely drank half my bottle of Voss water when the couple next to me had many, many glasses of beer. I remember the show and didn't have to get up during the show to pee. Maybe I don't need that much fluids...

Sprite Zero

nightswimming - ha, i was saying exactly that yesterday. how did i sit in a pub and drink pints and pints of beer? seems strange already.

i have noticed a distinct cross-addiction to strong, sweet (with sweeteners!) tea. fortunately i am british and can achieve this properly... ;)

I drink lots and lots of water. Never was much of a fan of sweet sodas, but I do like ginger ale - Reed's extra Ginger is my favorite. Sprecher is a brewer of alcoholic beers here in Wisconsin, but they also have an excellent line of craft sodas - Root Beer and Ginger Ale are my favorite. They have another called "Raven Red" which has wisconsin cherry and cranberry juice in it.

Another one is the fruit and "real sugar" fruit flavored sodas you can find at mexican grocery stores up here. They are pretty sweet but Coca Cola made with real sugar is really tasty compared to the high-fructose corn syrup US version.

soda stream, soda stream, soda stream. I can drink all the diet beverages and since they are carbonated, I feel like I'm drinking champagne. Also, for summer hydration water with cucucumbers and lime is so good and so refreshing!!

UnixBer 11-25-2013 09:27 AM

Fizzy water
Coffee
Teas
Cold water
Occasional dr. pepper or soft drink like that
Juices of different kinds

- Never did I really enjoy the taste of any alcoholic drink. Tasted like vomit.

magusadam 11-25-2013 09:28 AM

Cofffe Black, water, diet mountain dew, green tea

Skye2 11-25-2013 09:30 AM

Mine was hot chocolate until I got on the scales and realised I've gained over ten pounds. Now, it's black tea lol

Nightswimming 11-25-2013 09:38 AM

Sodastream for me too! We were getting so sick of lugging 2 litre bottles of sparkling water up the road something had to give!
