Sadly enough, I knew from your first post why you're asking. When you said that they didn't know how many days it had been it was also already apparent. There are some who count and some who don't but I would say it's standard that most do in the beginning.

This would be a great poll, off and running!

I've always known my sober date, but I've never counted days. So, in that first year, I would know when a new month of continued sobriety had passed, but I wouldn't keep track of any days in between the months. Then, as the years passed, I'd recognize another year, if someone was kind enough to remind me. I still pick up a yearly coin from my AA home group.
