awesome, nuu!!!

you have filled me with hope, clarity and inspiration way more than a few times here, and i'm so happy for you!

you freaking rock!!

Well done. I like how you are always openly exploring yourself, kind of playing with your sober mind - seeing what you can do, and what you're ready for. I can tell you're a real "hands on" type, like me...you have to actually experience something firsthand to see how it works. Reading manuals is nice, but you like to get your hands dirty. I like your 'tude.

Congrats! :)

Awwww, Nuudawn...

My heartfelt congratulations!

It's been inspirational for me to follow your progress here, and all the tremendous support you've so freely given. You truly have forged your own way, ever mindful that though the journey is personal, we rarely get better on our own.

I was thinking of the movie Die Hard while reading your comments. Alcohol took your life hostage, and you worked very hard to take it back in ways that you wear very well, and that help others to achieve sobriety. You've been willing to go to any length to stay sober. Think of me as your overweight cop on the ground who gives you support while eating Twinkies as you take out all the bad guys.

Following is an excerpt from the AA Big Book that I very much identify with and that applies to you and most of the rest of us who continue to work for a better life. It's from Dr. Bob Smith, one of AA's co-founders.

When asked if he would ever drink again, Dr. Bob replied, "As long as I'm thinking the way I'm thinking now, and as long as I'm doing the things I'm doing now, I don't believe I'll ever take another drink."

Ah Endgame...I fell for ya weeks ago : ) As I fought back some tears after reading your post..and others who have let me know my posts have helped them, the ever-sage Dee provided the much needed comic relief with his Fonzie reference. Brilliant. And I will buy you twinkies anyday EG!

I couldn't help but think of the following when I read all your posts guys ..tee hee.

"You like me!" - YouTube

Congratulations Nuudawn. I'm with you on the nicotine and ice cream. Both have been my substitute for alcohol cravings. There's a frozen custard shop about a mile from my home, and they give very generous portions. I swear I crave it more than I did alcohol. But at least with ice cream, I don't keep consuming it until I pass out.

Anyway, here's to a sober Fall season.
