Sober since 3rd July

Hi everyone,
Last time I posted I introduced myself. In the meantime I went to my sisters wedding, stayed totally sober during the reception party the night before and had an alright time regardless. Got abit drunk after my speech at the wedding dinner and party though. Tried drinking moderately during the week before this one but failed at that. Haven't had any alcohol starting waking up 3rd July so that makes 5 days starting my 6th now. Had some evening anxiety and moderate sleeping difficulties along with tiredness but nothing serious. Caught a cold on top of withdrawing so I think I will feel abit better in a week or so when the infection has run it's course.

Had some urges to drink friday and yesterday evening but not irresistable. Exercising 45-60 minutes in the evening and taking some valerian root extract does help abit. Tried Camomille tea following a suggestion I read here as well, it seems to help alittle, everybit that helps without harming is welcome :).

Anyway, just wanted to check in and report that I am trying to quit and the first days have gone well.

This forum is great support and also a reminder of how the cons of drinking outweighs the pros. I miss the drink but quitting is the lesser of two evils and I think in time I will find better things to fill the void that "John Daniels" has left behind him.

Sober Cheers!
