Any deaf or hearing impaired people in recovery

Hello...
I have a hearing impairment from Australia. I've joined up a number of sites on the net to aid my recovery as I've been struggling alot to get face-face support in group meetings with an interpreter present. I can't hear much what other people say in meetings so I have the barrier of still feeling isolated and missing out! (no ones fault of course), I am in early recovery and want to be in complete abstinence from my alcohol addiction. I am glad that the internet exists for me to read literature and other peoples experiences in recovery. It gives me hope... so i'll keep reading on! ... :)

Welcome to SR.

This site has been a remarkable resource for me. I hope you find it so as well and that it helps on your journey to sobriety. Isolation can hamper recovery, so I'm glad you found us!
