Thanks for sharing your story! Let us know when your episode will air! Best to you :) |
Congratulations! |
Welcome and congrats on your sober time! I love watching intervention. It has been off the air this summer and last year I got a kick out of watching it while being messed up...how sad. I will be a different person watching it this year. |
Intervention is what keeps me sober. I watch it when I need a dose of reality. Congrats on your recovery an your bravery! I can't wait to see it! |
Chris...watching your program now! Nice to put a face to your name! |
Chris, Welcome back to CO & SR. Thanks for sharing your story, congratulations to you & your Dad. |
Watched it last night! Good job! |

Chris? |
I can never figure out when it's on? Is it still on A & E? Hope Chris checks in. |
Did the show give an update on where Chris is now? Chris' info: Last Activity: 07-25-2012 02:37 AM Join Date: 07-17-2012 |
Interesting! I just saw this episode 2 nights ago! I hope Chris and his father are still sober! |
According to the show Chris got sober through rehab and after... His dad relapsed but returned to a treatment center a month after... Sorry SB just saw your question :) |
Wow it's really cool to talk to someone who has been on that show and can vouch for its authenticity. I suppose I always had my doubts because some of the reality tv type shows exploit people more than they help them or they exaggerate using editing and whatnot... You and I have a lot in common btw. I'm sober, my dad is trying to get sober but really struggling. Getting him into treatment has been tough. Money is tight because we've both been in rehab a few times before. This last place we sent him to was awful and he left after 3 days. He says he has about 30 days now but I just saw him tonight and he seemed a little out if sorts which is not a good sign. I think the whole co-dependency thing rings very true for me as well. My last relapse was partly triggered by my dads drugging and drinking and my moms decision to cheat on him because she felt so lonely and lost. He is now going to divorced, alienated from all family but me and my sister, and dealing with a recent DUI. I hate watching him struggle. We are really close. Anyway, enough about me and my stuff. Congrats to you. SR is a great resource and I hope you keep coming around to update us on your progress (and your dad too!). I wish you both all the best. - BabyJ. |
Checking In Well hi everyone. I really need to be on here more. Its been 15 months! But I wanted to let everyone know that I've been continually sober for 18 months since I first went to rehab. I have a decent job and have really been working on putting my life back together: getting out of debt, maintaining meaningful relationships, etc. As far as my father goes: he never really got better. In fact, in April he was arrested on drug related charges and is still in jail but I figure that's better than death, and at least he's sober (because he has to be) I suppose. Feel free to ask any questions. My anxiety still gets to me from time to time but I wouldn't give up my sobriety for anything at this moment. |
That's awesome, congrats on your sobriety. I've actually been trying to watch an episode of intervention every night before bed, after an AA meeting - anything to remind me of my addiction and to keep my mind from wandering away from the issue at hand. |
Good to hear from you again and to know you are doing well. |
congrats on your progress Chris :) D |
