Welcome back, I'm fairly new. Do you mind if I ask what made you drink again?

DJ1 06-23-2011 06:50 AM

Hi no problem for me it was a lot of stress work some serious health issues in my family just way too much to handle so I took the easy way out not good :( ended up in hospital 2 weeks ago a good warning sign for me so im back at it again I just now have to work out a way to stay sober forever & stop making excuses neve easy but I felt fantastic not drinking now I just feel sick to my stomach I did this to my self !
I hope you are doing well

Welcome back DJ1,

You beat it back once before and I'm sure you remember the tools you used. You can do this and hopefully we can be there to give you some help and support along the way.

Welcome back DJ. Do you plan to do anything different this time around in so far as recovery is concerned?

Wishing you the best and no more trips to the hospital!

Kjell 06-23-2011 08:55 AM

Hi DJ-

Welcome back.

I simply had to change who I was or the same me will drink again and again and again.

Maybe this is true with you too?

Kjell~

DJ1 06-23-2011 09:08 AM

@ Kjell I agree I realize it is me that needs to change & I attract the same people as myself & I don't like them either !!
@ swansong this time I am going to do things different the problem with any addict you can recognize the problems but hard to fix them but I'm going to keep coming to the boards that helped me so much stay sober last time & start to change but I thought I can do this I got this ... not the case so Im doing the boards & looking for other alternatives tried AA now looking for something different a counselor to start with to try & fix the real problems in me! any suggestions any help more than welcome day 1 I forgot how bad it feels to quit im certainly going to be fit every time im thinking of drinking im going for a walk

DJ1 06-24-2011 05:03 AM

Thanks for the encouragement well it's day 2. I can honestly say last night was the roughest night for me in all the times of quit drinking goes to show the progression of my drinking! I even thought about going to the hospital but stuck with it even Thought I felt a drink would have stoped all the issues.
But I'm pleased to say I did it not great deal for people that have years u der their belt but Iknow I,m worth this so bring it on !! I'm gonna kick your butt this time Mr evil
alcoholism you with your flashy glass bottles . & nasty smelling liquid I'm done with you. Heres. To day 2 !!
I won't bore everyone with all the details but I'm going to post here every morning for 30 days as a re commitment
Happy FRIDAY ALL X

StreamWader 06-24-2011 05:23 AM

I look forward to reading those posts. I check this site every morning (Well, for the past week anyway) to see if anyone else has struggled through night. I have had some wild/terrifying nights during my first few days of sobriety, but it was better last night. I hope, and I'm sure it will, get better for you also.

DJ1 may you power on into sobriety

StreamWader 06-25-2011 04:57 AM

Good morning! Hope your night was restful!

My senses seem to have awaked a bit after 6 days of sobriety. I am amazed at how good this orange juice tastes without being diluted 50% by vodka.

Have a good Saturday!

DJ1 06-25-2011 04:59 AM
