Music anyone??? Hey I'm posting this here cause it gets more traffic, but i suspect it may have to be moved to social :( I'm in the beginning of recovery, and having a very bored day...I'm doing the things i need to for life and recovery, but could use some music and stuff in my life to brighten things up as I go along...glum sobriety makes me wanna escape reality :) So.....anyone wanna post some music today? I'll check back as i do my housework and job apps....I'll try to get us started if I can figure out how lol go rock, punk, classic sinatra..whatever floats your boat :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zzq5X-p2C0Y&feature=fvw |

ok..now this does take place in a bar..but i want you to think of walking into an AA meeting...new girl or guy there...you're trying to focus on the message...your mind just isn't there...through the closing and the last call for shares..... LMAO come on .. most of us have been there (not making light of recovery, but we are soooo the alchoholic regardless of how we change the environment) :a043: YouTube - Closing Time/I Hope That I Don't Fall In Love With You - Hootie & the Blowfish @ Konocti Harbor 2006 Ok gotta listen to the others :) Thanks guys..i just need something to perk me up as i do that daily next right thing...unemployment papers, job apps, dishes, laundry..and yes...later this afternoon the big book study :) |
had to try it zen..thanks :) yipppeeee sucess! |
|
when i take myself too seriously i like this song "thats the way the world goes round your up one day the next your down it's a half an inch of water and you think your gonna drown thats the way the world goes round" :react For all my fellow drama queens :) |
|
OMG live..we will have to censor that one :lmao :a213: |
OK..a bit depressing, but never heard a song that more caputred the essense of hitting bottom.....(ignore the silly visuals :) ) |
A feel good song with that reggae beat I love so much. |
I dunno how to post a link for music ananda......but i let you into a secret. I have a secret addiction to putting "whole lotta rosie" by AC/DC on the system before jumping in the shower. i can sometimes be seen singing along into the shower gel bottle...... oooohhhh yeah.....gets me ready for work. try it..........i recommend it a part of your daily meditations..lol. |
for you Shaun :) |
I have to admit the visual is sorta disconcerning lmao:lmao |
I saw them do that in concert, Shaun...what a high energy show! Made'ya laugh Ananda! |
|
OMG..... That is my favorite..but i didn't post it cause i didn't wanna soil my already soiled reputation LOL If i ever meet the right man we are playing this at the wedding :lmao |
I never really liked country but it has grown on me. Nor would I consider myself very religious. I heard this song a little while ago and it spoke to me. Waylon Jennings- I do believe |
cracks me up everytime Ananda....I guess I don't care about my reputation anymore..my sense of humor carries me most days |
|
jeez this question has been on my mind for a few weeks LMAO....but ok i'll listen to the song..maybe it will answer the question lol (please reference whiner's thread...reference to "love sucks") snirkle |
OK..once again a bit morbid...but...this is uplifting for me..... Last week after the funeral of several friends, the topic in the family turned to songs for my mom's funeral (I know I know)...she is 82 and has worked on aids projects and with hospice for 20 years...so death is something she speaks freely of lol I told them this is the song I have chosen for her funeral as it reflects on how she has lived her life... OK don't shoot me..she really encourages this sort of thing lol Phil Oches who wrote this song, commited suicide at the age of 30. His life was a life lived courageously standing up to the world in which he lived...His poetry has changed my life and inspired me over the years! |
I'm really feeling CocoRosie right now: (I think Zencat can appreciate this song). |
mkay makes me cry ... like everything does...but oh...i love it |
I always liked this one... [thanks, zencat, I never figured out how to post the videos] |
my computer is running too slow..so I can't listen..darnit to darn! I don't think it's morbid to think along those lines, ananda. I used to tell my daughter that for my funeral I wanted everyone to sit in this very beautiful church we know and listen to Mozart's requim. She jokes and tells me no one would sit there for that long. She's right. :) |
