A Public Apology

Hi everyone.

I'm the person LaDita is talking about in her thread Lesson learned on SR.

I did say some insensitive things to her. Things that I regret deeply. I meant no harm to her. I was trying to express my empathy but it came out in a really bad way. I didn't see that at the time but I see it now. For that I am deeply, deeply sorry for what I said and I hope that LaDita can forgive me for my ignorance.

I accept full responsibility for what I said.

If any of my friends wish to withdraw their friendships with me, I understand.

If anyone wants to express their anger toward me then that is fine too. I deserve it.

As far as the hot babes thing, that was posted on my page as my interest/hobby. I was trying to be funny by referencing Kip from the movie Napoleon Dynamite. I am sorry for that too. It was wrong and demeaning to women.

I'm sorry to everyone here who I have let down with my short-sightedness.

I want to say that to LaDita the most. LaDita, I am really, really sorry.

Ken

It takes a real man or woman to admit there mistakes.

Amazonqueen522 02-08-2009 03:34 PM

That was courages of you, I admire a person that can ask for forgiveness when he knows that is actions hurt another human being...

I would definitely be yours and Ladita's friend.

I hope you get an opportunity to make amends.....:You_Rock_

Well done Ken, you the man! Come on kiss and make up:ghug3

Well, if nothing else, I must honestly admit that it takes a lot of strength and courage to come out openly and admit to something you've done wrong. So for that I can have respect for.

Ken,

This is very hard. I haven't been able to stay sober although I am drinking less. Even through sobriety it is very hard i imagine and some days, you aren't your best. No one is. All I know is that you have supported me through some hard drunk times. And you are understanding that even though i can't stay sober. I want to and I am trying.

Fubarcdn 02-08-2009 03:59 PM

I also admire your courage Ken and your apology sounds very sincere.
It is good you owned up to this and hopefully Ladita will see it in her heart to forgive you.
We all make mistakes.

Fubar said it all for me.........

KenL 02-08-2009 04:35 PM

Thanks everyone. I really am thankful for your kind words. I just hope that La
Dita will be ok.

a fallen man 02-08-2009 04:35 PM

wow....this site is even better than i thought. i'm on several sports forums and have never in my life seen anything close to what i witnessed today.

ladita got on here and bared her soul in need of some support and empathy and to her credit did not mention who hurt her.

everyone supported her. and i do too even tho' i didn't in her thread. sorry ladita.

then ken comes on here and bares his soul and mans up like i've never seen on a sports board and they can get very ugly when you're hiding behind a screen name and nobody knows who you are. that couldn't have been easy ken. and i get the napolean dynamite reference. i have a pretty twisted sense of humor and sometimes folks can't read between the lines on a computer whereas if you were in person they might get it.

i wish you both well. we come on here for assistance not more stress. we usually have that area of our lives covered up pretty well.

i hope ladita sees the sincerety of your apology. since she didn't out you it would have been easy enough to pm her and say you didn't mean to hurt her. but you did it publicly and that says a lot.

my hat is off to both of you. and let us all get one more day under our belts.

Kent- good example of the 10th step :

"Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it."

Ken,

I appreciate your courage and honesty.

I agree, misunderstandings do happen. You both exhibited courage by being open and honest. I pray for forgiveness and healing for both of you :ghug

Ken,

I accept your apology and wish I hadn't reacted so severely.
I think I might be alot more fragile than I thought while sober.
I am ok, just resting. This really made my day.

Thank you.

flutter 02-08-2009 05:23 PM

We all make mistakes, we're all quite fragile. We're human :) I think it's great that there's so much openess and emotion here... sometimes it feels icky, sometimes it feels great. At least we're feeling something !

Your not alone (should be the theme of this board I reckon). I pissed a few people off my early days here, made a few others uncomfortable. I try just to post on threads or to people when I have something positive/encouraging to add.

Hevyn 02-08-2009 06:06 PM

This situation bothered me all day, I feel so much better now. Thank you, both, for your openness and willingness to forgive.

tommyk 02-08-2009 07:04 PM

Good work, both of you. ;)
