Thats sucks Dee. I just changed Drs and this one worse than the one that was treating like an addict ALL the time. This one doesnt do anything except ask a bunch of questions.
I too have govt coverage. MAybe that is it.
Who knows..Well glad you dont want to drink.
Hope something comes through soon for ya.

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change (this doctor), change the things I can (find another doctor) and the wisdom to know the difference (I'm doing my part)

Congrats on the vent Dee! You're not alone in this battle. Just grateful to have a solution other than alcohol and a support system to hold me accountable. Self honesty is great but really hard for this alcoholic to maintain.

One Day At A Time

Peace

Hey Dee~
I'm about to flee the country, given that my recent hospital bill is on the way and I have no way to cover even a smidgen of the cost. Wanna ride? F* the taxis, the doc and the whole lousy medical system. Just let me know where you'd like to go-LOL.

BTW-it is really a shame that you don't want any hugs or pats, since so many of us are here to give them...
:Val004:

But I respect your boundaries, as well as your conviction. Thank you for not wanting to hurt yourself anymore. Truly hope the day has shifted for you.

D!

Read this...and went searching for my post from May..did have a thought

of drinking...moment of insanity...extreme prolonged stress.

Thought I had been handling it well...

Anyhow, looking the sliding glass door..the world suddenly seemed to go

grey..weird.

And a thought.."a drink would be nice".."to (be) drunk would be nice".

I know that voice...felt my mind slipping a bit...it was scary.

Sponsor drives up. End of story just for (that) day.

Yeah..still going through red tape for my medical as well...

800.00 for meds. Just "lucky" Dr. says ...she has samples...

You! Get another doctor that is worth their freakin' salt...

And worth you my boy!

It makes me so mad that anyone would treat my Dee mean.......

Shoot!

Don't you give up...please....I am going codie and not ashamed to say it!

Love you,

Sis :ghug3:

Surely she has your medical records....? Some Doctors are officious, god-playing morons. She is one of them.
I would be freakin livid too mate.

Klynn33 08-01-2008 11:15 PM

((Dee))
I hope it all works out for you. (and I'm sorry that you're going through this, you have some amount of strengh.....) I guess that doctor is who they're talking about when they say "it takes all kinds........"

and hey, not everyone can be as cool as we are:)

maybe you can suggest the Dr take a really long walk in the outback wearing nothing but a couple band-aids and no water or weapons
isnt there a place in Aussie that has loads of sharks ???? Maybe some swimming lessons ????
I hear gyps has a need for sharks too......
It would b in their best interest ??

she's a knucklehead.

my mom (and my dad before he passed away) - they go to real knucklehead doctor. actually, a husband/wife knucklehead doctor team. whether they end up with mr or mrs - doesn't matter - both knuckleheads. i sat in mr's office one day for 5 HOURS, arms crossed, and WOULD NOT LEAVE until he had my dad transfered to a different hospital.

be firm, dee - you have medical rights.

hugs to ya. and let me know if you want me to toss ya a couple of pirates for your next visit..

The "paper minefield" - that's great, an accurate description of the sh!t you have to go thru in dealing with the government!

Good for you Dee for not caving in to anger and stress.

Keep looking for a decent doctor, one who "does no harm".

(((Dee)))

Sorry you're going through this. My mom tried to get disability, they turned her down twice. Two weeks after she died, they approved her (we got the letter) but said they felt she would get better and would re-evaluate her in 4 years. I told dad to send them the address of the cemetary so they could "re-evaluate" her. Idiots!

I had a rough night at work and thought "I SERIOUSLY want to get f'd up". I didn't, but at almost 17 months, it was a reminder that those addict thoughts are still in the background.

I hope you get a more compassionate doctor.

Hugs and prayers!

Amy

NOMOMERLOTMAMMA 08-02-2008 08:28 AM

Geez, Dee. Sorry I'm late, but I wanted you to know that I was mad for you too!

The doc I work with now is pretty human. Which is nice, cause I've worked for a few and not a whole lot of them are. Some of em lack a certain..empathy.

Really, like Stone said, she doesn't have your old records??!! Hello??!!

Glad that you are doing better today.

scaredykat 08-02-2008 11:47 AM

Hi Dee, I'm not going to say much, but you have every right to be mad in my book. I can relate I went through something similar here in the US with trying to get disability with my arm. I was told it wasn't bad enough and that i still had one good arm that I can drive with and work with. Now as you know it's even worse and it effects my back more. Now i can't even try for disability again because i don't have enough credits.

Anyway, just wanted to let you know I'm thinking of you. Hang in there.

Love ya,
Barb

P.S. I hope I didn't sound to grumpy in your post. I've been going through a resentment thing myself the past couple of days. :)

Anna 08-02-2008 12:06 PM

I hope you feel better today, Dee.

It sounds to me like your doctor was being lazy and shirking her duties, as your gp.

So sorry you have to go through this.

Dee74 08-02-2008 03:15 PM

thanks again all :)

Stoney, NMM - I've had CP since birth - if there are records they're at the Children's Hospital - I doubt they keep records for 40 years but I did email them. My childhood GP is 20 years dead, so no luck there either.

My most recent records are there, but there's nothing about CP in them, why would there be? it's self evident.

Records aren't really the point anyway - she's a doctor, if she needs a diagnosis, she should have made it herself. All the form needs are some clinical characteristics - like Anna said, she's shirking - I think she either doesn't know enough about CP or just couldn't be bothered.

Anyway still mad, but not wanting to drink, so thanks again for the support :)

and you didn't sound grumpy to me Scaredy :)

How about arrest records Dee? Do any of yours mention the cp ?
