Just checking in with the whinies....

No whinies for me except mommie...had to roll her hair today...she is too

weak. Think a trip to the doc is in order for tomorrow!

Told my boss thought it was offensive that he and CEO both said I should join company weight loss competition (earlier whine) and he told me I was being "precious". I thought men who were smart enough to earn a gazillion dollards a year would know not to suggest a woman needs to lose weight!!

Oh, Pupmom, men like that who just don't "get it" don't deserve someone wonderful like you working with them. I think they may "regret" that unthoughtful remark sometime soon...yes?

Almost forgot MY whine. Husband is quitting smoking starting today. I suppose I'll have to get in "supportive" mode. I've rather liked having it be all about me & my alcohol addiction. :disappoin

winwin 07-28-2008 10:04 AM

I would run if I was you. When my husband quit smoking I locked him up for a couple of weeks.

Uh, Oh! A recovering Winette (female version of Wino) has now joined Whiners Anonymous...thank goodness, this is a 24/7 meeting!

My Whiney Monday began at 3:00 a.m. while I waited patiently for the nurse to bring my 3- x-week water pill (for congestive heart failure). I have to take it that early, or I'll be in bed until noon...this way, I'm able to get up about 9 o'clock. By the time she came in at 5:00 a.m., I was wide awake and aggravated because now I was unable to take the pill at all today! Then breakfast was an hour late "because they started passing the trays from the other end of the hall!

I was so overtired, I decided to take a nap about 2:30. Forget it! Between nurses, aides, and cleaning people...impossible!

What really capped off the day was when the Social Worker came in and said, "You really have to be careful what you say to people because it can be taken the wrong way." It seems one of the African American aides-in-training took offense when I saw her name tag (Kennedy) and said, "You don't look Irish." I told the SW, "Do you think Eddie Murphy would be offended? Oh, that's right...he has a sense of humor!"

Honestly, sometimes I feel like a visitor from another planet...
"Beam me up, Scotty...Please!!!"

scaredykat 07-28-2008 05:01 PM

My whine is that I didn't feel well today. I had 4 tubes of blood taken out of me for different tests. I hope they use it all. I had no energy all day after that and had to take a nap this afternoon.

So I'm finally able to come on here.

frstnm 07-28-2008 06:04 PM

I am just plain IRRITABLE today !!!!!!!
I can only hold onto my sobriety because the rest of my life and the whole entire world is SUCKING !!!!! right now !!!!!!!!!!

My Brain Hurts

Ann 07-28-2008 07:01 PM

I have a whine. http://img520.imageshack.us/img520/3...ankyob4vu6.jpg

Grocery checkout aisles that are about a foot wide...okay maybe an inch wider than the cart. I cannot push the cart ahead of me and then reach to unload it when I can't get around it. They say it's because they made another aisle extra wide to accommodate wheel chairs...which I think is admirable...but that doesn't mean they have to have a skinny minny aisle because they don't need all the aisles they have....

BECAUSE THERE IS NEVER A CASHIER AT ANY OF THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have you noticed? There are ALWAYS at least 3 checkout aisles in every grocery store in the world that are never ever open for business!! Now if they simply removed those useless inactive aisles, they could have a couple of wheelchair access aisles AND aisles wide enough for me to get through...by the way...this Queeny is not wide at the hips or anyplace else...not that there's anything wrong with that but if I can't get through, you can bet your weekly special that anyone with hips at all can't make it. :dot:

Thank you, I needed that. And welcome Jersey Nonney who I think is funny and is one worthy whiner. A pox to people with no sense of humour.
