And don't even get me STARTED on swans.
Meanest creatures I've ever been around

Moving whine about moving in and finding wine! House we're moving into was left so dirty-can't put anything away until I completely clean their mess up. How rude. They said they were leaving us "stuff you might want", told us to just take it to Goodwill or something if we didn't want it! The nerve! 2 horrible old chairs, 4 tables, all sorts of sheets & towels, assorted personal items (!) Worst of all, numerous bottles of wine left in a wine rack, & 2 bottles of vodka in a cupboard. I opened the vodka and took a sniff. Don't know why I did that.....wasn't tempted to drink it, though. It was strange, when I first saw the liquor I was excited - then I remembered - not for me!!! *sigh* Also, looked at the nice yard & thought how fun it would be to sit and have a beer. I reminded myself it's never "a" beer - it's 20 beers, hangover, hair of dog, off & running on another binge. I'm so glad I could come here to say waaaaaah poor me.

stupid freakin' headaches!! can't stand not being able to relax enough to get to sleep!! and this roller coaster just won't quit long enough for me to stop feeling 'dizzy'!! I hate PAWS!!! :c004:

Rowan 05-24-2008 08:00 PM

(((least))) when I quit benzos 5 years ago, I had major withdrawal symptoms i.e. dizzy spells, insomnia, grinding my teeth, bleeding gums, massive headaches, hallucinations. The only thing that got me through it was the thought that I wouldn't have to experience these symptoms again if I stayed clean! Withdrawal is painful, to be sure, but you won't have to repeat this experience if you stay clean and sober.
If you can't sleep, run a bath, surf the net, go for a walk, listen to some music, do an online meditation, breathe, light incense, phone someone, watch a movie .. anything to pass the time or distract yourself. Hang in there hon.

I've done everything I could stand to do, still can't sleep. And watching the dogs sleep so easily just makes me envious... sigh... Maybe if I put a DVD in the computer I'll fall asleep in my chair. I don't care where it is, as long as I'm sleeping!:c004:

thinking about housework always put me to sleep. Also, for the first months of sobriety, I always had the radio going, or a cd with speakertapes from aa conventions going.

It's okay Least

My daughter is 24, and she is now in recovery w/NA. But before that, she was angry with me because of my alcoholism. Plus quitting and then starting again did not help her trust in me. I let so much go because I was so ill myself. But as other's have said, in time, your daughter will come around too. Once she sees your efforts and courage. And also as she matures. But don't be afraid that you have lost everyone and are alone. You have yourself, God and your AA family. Including me.

Woke up way too early this morning but if I woke up I must have finally fallen asleep. But my eyes are burning like a meteor entering the atmosphere! :a043: And I can't find my Visine...

flgirl 05-25-2008 04:21 AM

Hi Least,

I had the same kind of night you did :) I love trying to get by on 4 hours of sleep...LOL

Ann 05-25-2008 04:30 AM

flgirl, I LOVE your signature. How true that was for me, no shortcuts, just faced my stuff head on and kept moving forward until I found the light again.

It's a beautiful weekend here, and all the spring babies are in the fields or waddling by the shore...I'm afraid the whines just aren't coming easy...I'll work on it.

Meanwhile, I'll supply coffee to those of you who haven't slept...I'm a martyr kinda whiner, just doing my part :D If Toby didn't drink it all...

I'm so whinney I cant even put it in writing :(

least 05-25-2008 05:41 AM

I can put it in writing very easily... especially when I look at gas bill - the shut off notice, that is. Last month was the coldest April on record here in Ohio and I'll bet that May will be the same. I've NEVER run my furnace so late in the spring and my gas bill reflects that.

Have to make another cup of coffee to keep my burning eyes open... getting so sick of so little sleep. I'm cranky anyway and need my eight hours a nite and I'm not getting it.:a043:

Thanks for giving me a place to whine so I don't subject my daughter to it... she's sick of hearing it, but then, she doesn't pay the gas bill either... or she'd be whining like a fire siren!
