Is open for business.

For the newcomer...

This is Little Baby Whiner Zipperman, our founder

I, of course am the self-appointed Queen of Whines..

The other whiners will be along soon, so get your hankies ready and grab an ice pack for your head....they're good, I tell ya, good.

I'm sorry to whine about this again... I'm really trying hard to give my 18 yr old daughter her 'space', some breathing room, and not harass her about trying to repair the good relationship we used to have before my year with the bottle. But it's SO HARD to have to put up with her distant 'cold' attitude toward me. I just asked her if she liked the sober me better than the drinking me. She blew up at me and said that was a stupid question. I left the room before I burst into tears. Then I went to give her a hug before she left for work and she sort of pushed me away, said 'bye', and left without another word. I'm having a hard time dealing with this.:sorry I don't want her to leave the house mad at me, or thinking I was mad at her, because I"m always afraid when someone I love leaves me, for any reason, that I may never see them again. I always try to hug them when they, or I, leave the house so that they know I love them. If anything happened to her and I hadn't hugged her... Or if anything happened to me, she'd always feel bad for not having hugged, or been hugged by me.:sorry

PS: the one thing I WON'T do is drink to numb the hurt feelings.

(((((least))))) no need to say sorry here. My experience is that we need to just got on with recovey and life and leave others to come around, especially those close to us. I did a lot of damage to my realtionship with my daughter and its taking its own time to heal, but heal it is and thats as it should be.

It'll be ok, Least!

I had the same experience with my son. I think he was being very cautious & was afraid to hope I actually was quitting (well, at that time I did for 3 yrs. until he left home). He was very sarcastic and almost mocking & it did hurt. I decided I wasn't going to grovel, after all, I hadn't intentionally hurt him, and I'd been through hell too. I just pasted a smile on my face and forged ahead, hoping he'd eventually see the change. Maybe you should back off a bit and not try so hard to make things right. She's not capable of moving past it quite yet. As she sees you growing stronger every day she'll come around.

I"m just going to blame alcohol for everything! Today is my 14th day sober - two whole weeks! - that's the longest time I've been sober in the last year... and I'm tired but cannot sleep! I"m restless and itching all over. Aaarrrggghhh!!!! I want to go to sleep!!

Weather whine

Where is spring, I ask? No sun here for a week. Cold, wet, dreary. I fear I have seasonal affective disorder: cranky, impatient & lazy.
