How to put pics in your posts Here you go all you folks that were asking - here's how you do it... Go to a photo uploading site like or STEP 1 Browse to where the file is on your computer STEP 2 Hit upload and wait a for a while whilst the pic gets uploaded STEP 3 Highlight the embed code generated e.g PHP Code: STEP 4 use the image button https://www.soberrecovery.com/forums...nsertimage.gif& paste code should find it in your post like PHP Code: Post. There are other image hosts you can use as well, I just use that one the most... Good luck and have fun... [Thanks to RK for the original thread - updated due to new https protocol 2017 - D] |

I'm such a technodummy I have to be told (better yet, shown) EVERY tiny detail or I can't do it. Dumb as I am, I still can't understand what to do, not even with your directions. If you were standing next to me and telling me what to do exactly, I might be able to do it, but even with your instructions I still don't get it...:sorry I just went to TinyPic and tried it but couldn't "open" the place on my computer where my pix are. I give up. I still don't understand your instructions... |
:wtf2 :) |

Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket works good too because you can save them in there and use them again- http://i27.tinypic.com/16adwfp.jpg http://i27.tinypic.com/16adwfp.jpg |

I did catch on, finally, and now it's easy to upload a pic from my computer to post.:) Just be sure in step 2 to resize your image to "forums, message board" size. That will look just right.:) |
Hey Least...I would have done their nails for free...I just did this sweet little girl today. It was a beautiful day to get everyone out in the fresh air. Think we all have cabin fever. http://i55.tinypic.com/chisl.jpg |

|
ok...lol first time was epic fail, but I see now...thanks |
I got it to work, then I couldn't do it again LOL Can I put in the url off of any image that I google? or do I need to go through a specific site to find images? I think I have the how-to part down, but the last couple I tried just resulted in a tiny red x in my post. |
I've noticed some sites won't allow you to direct link like that with URLs, like Flickr...and others, like photobucket obviously want you to log in there and use their codes... also watch when you cut and paste URLs you only have one 'http:' in there :) D |
yes, I saw my double http: goof-up haha. ok I understand now what you are saying (I think...) I am inserting the url, but since I'm not signed in or it's in some other way restricted by whatever site I'm pulling it from, it just gives me the little red x...is that right? also, can I use an image that's on my drive and follow the same procedure? ok so I will try tinypic thank you dee :) |
Most sites are ok - it's probably the double http. Using something like tinypic, imageshack etc is fine. you can sometimes use the 'manage attachments' button when you post, to add a pic (you can't use that in quick reply mode tho, and the pic can't be too big). The server problems at the moment might make that process tricky tho - it's probably best not to use that method too much to avoid server overload :) D |
|
oops...sorry. WAY too big. :( |
I need to check this out. TOD |
I wanna try.... No... I am in Picassa or something and won't let me. I have to sign in or something. Forget it. It's late and I'm tired. :((((( |
