I told... my girlfriend about my addicition. It was very emotional but I think we're gonna be allright. |
You are so brave. I'm glad that your relationship will be allright. You must feel a lot better having told her. Keeping things in is like poison to our bodies. |
It's great if you can have support from those who love you. Keep moving forward. |
That was a brave and honorable thing to do. I'im glad she's being understanding about it. I wish you all the best.:ghug3 |
Good for you - that took courage. |
CC Well done! If you can unburden yourself by being honest, I think that is the best of all possible worlds. With the exception of not having to tell anything, of course. Some people have circumstances where they are unable to be honest, and I feel for them. Now your cards are on the table and you can go forth with honesty and without all the hiding behavior. Do you feel unburdened? Has a layer of anxiety been removed? I'm sure your lady will take some time to adjust, but then she has been adjusting without knowing it for some time. Good luck! warrens |
It helps to know that the people closest to you in life are aware of your struggle and on your side. Good luck to you! |
Agreed with all. Being able to stop hiding and coming clean with the people closest in your life will have an amazing effect on your recovery. Just bear in mind, some people will get it, and some won't. And that's cool. As selfish as it seems, it's all about you at this point. You can't expect to help, love or take care of someone else until you do the same for yourself. God speed. Heat |
comeclean, I have been wondering how you are doing...good to see you... wow, good for you, that had to take a lot of courage and I am glad to hear you two are going to be alright......good stuff |
thanks for the support u guys, it feels good indeed, having nothing to hide, I hope to face my parents in a similar way too one day, altough i really have to think about wether this is the right thing to do (for them). I am on day 3 now, taking it one step at a time, I actually think I can make it to day four, |
The truth will set us free!!! Take it one day at a time, or an hour or even a minute, the craving will pass if you let it. |
we try and we try...we stumble and we fall and we pick our selves up and try again..and we keep trying.....we keep coming back to the table...... The only failure is choosing not to try. |
THAT takes a lot of courage I have a LOT of respect for that man..... |
Speaking our truth as Taz stated "will set us free" and it is a wonderful feeling! A cinderblock off the shoulder! Good for you! Great courage and strength-Lots of good thoughts to you  |
CC, The truth can be so freeing... I hope you will find it in you to share with your parents about your illness. If not in the beginning, I'm sure they will eventually be suportive. It's possible that they already have somewhat of an idea of what's been going on. Families tend to pe quite perseptive on these types of issues. They can also be a huge source of support for you. My thoughts and prayers are with you.:ghug3 |
