Hey Rob. Sorry bout the arms. I am glad you still came and started a thread. Want to hear good things from you.

hug friend.

Jersey Nonny 01-06-2008 09:38 AM

OMG...does this mean you finally don't have a hand with which to pick up a drink!?! Rob...if you have trouble "hunting and pecking", just keep reading the posts!!! Can you get someone to drive you to meetings? Call your local AA hotline...I'm sure someone will pick you up. Hang in there!

Rowan 01-06-2008 09:51 AM

I agree with Rae - stick around here and read the posts or call for a ride to a meeting. Glad you made it back to us, Rob. Sounds like a close call.

curliQ 01-06-2008 10:40 AM

Hey Rob, good to hear from you.

Omega Man 01-06-2008 11:10 AM

Still friends?
If you mean something like this, I would have to say YES!

Main Entry: 1friend
Pronunciation: \ˈfrend\
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English frend, from Old English frēond; akin to Old High German friunt friend, Old English frēon to love, frēo free
Date: before 12th century
1 a: one attached to another by affection or esteem b: acquaintance
2 a: one that is not hostile b: one that is of the same nation, party, or group

Glad to see your back with us. Beside SR, do you have someone to help you?

Jomey 01-06-2008 11:31 AM

Wow, Rob, glad you're back. Hope you are ok and have someone to help you. Jomey

nodrinkingzone 01-06-2008 12:57 PM

Wow! Glad you made it back, man - sounds like you almost didn't...

Good luck, congrats on Day 4, and please keep going to meetings and doing whatever it takes to not drink any more.

It's an awful thing to say, but I hope this is as bad as it gets and this is your bottom... obviously the ICU/forest incident wasn't, so maybe this is. I know we don't know each other, but I have been reading your posts for 3 weeks now and I feel like I know where you're coming from.

Hang in there mate.

Anna 01-06-2008 01:04 PM

Hi Rob,

I'm glad you're back. So, what's your plan now?

mikel60 01-06-2008 03:26 PM

Hi Rob,
Good to see you're in a safe place. I broke my knee once in a blackout which just meant I had to stumble around drunk on crutches for a few months. You're ahead of me on the score. Keep posting if you can, and listen to what the detox folks tell you. Hope to hear more from you soon.
Mike

LauraSFO1 01-06-2008 04:07 PM

You scared the hell out of me, Rob! I pray you are back on the right track!

Jersey Nonny 01-06-2008 04:22 PM

I dated someone while I was in early recovery...one of the more stupid things I have ever done, drunk or sober. He couldn't stop drinking...fell out of bed, and broke his back...was in a full body cast, and still he drank. Some are sicker and/or thicker than others...I sure hope you're not one of those, Rob!

I often wonder whatever happened to that guy...did he ever get sober? Is he still alive?

beyond_infinity 01-06-2008 04:29 PM

Oh my!! Two broken arms?!
I'm glad you've made 4 days.

Best wishes to you.
