Day 7 today and I feel like poo..
I feel hungover and dehydrated.. I'm more dehydrated now than when drinking, does anuone else feel this? I think drinking forced me to drink lots of water..
Just trying to get through today, hopefully I perk up soon..

Thanks Dee and I think you're right, I was thinking yesterday that all the stored toxins were finally getting a chance to leave my body..

Day 1 I was hungover and still drunk
Day 2 I felt amazing waking up sober
Day 3, 4, 5, 6 although I woke up sober I was very tired and didn't sleep well and have felt very dehydrated and maybe irritated as well
Day 7 I feel like crap

I thought I would feel better than this but I guess I was bit too optimistic about the reality lol

I'm sorry you are feeling so yucky Red, I hope it will change soon. Have you had food with extra sodium in the past few days? I know that can really knock me off kilter. And darn it of course I love salty food.

Ending day 5 here. I've filled the fridge that hubby puts beer in sometimes with sparkling waters, 5 or 6 flavors! Lol. I had one in the car today and my yongest (13) asked what it tasted like so I just handed it back for him to have a sip. He asked if it had alcohol in it.... wow, my heart sunk. But I said of course not, that I would never hand him something with alcohol in it. :( I will just have to not let him see me with alcohol in my hand again. Actions are much louder than words, right.

Anyway glad to be going to bed sober. ❤

Patcha well done on your year!!! We will be here to cheer you on for your 400 too! 😁

Saturday afternoon check in.
I had the best nights sleep. Wow did I need that. Only the yongest is at home at the moment. Spent the morning reading and knitting. No real plans today, happy to chill at home. ❤

Hope you all are having an awsome day.

Sounds wonderful.. I'm waiting patiently for that night to happen lol
What are you knitting?

Citrus 07-30-2022 05:19 PM

I hope it happens soon Red!
Haha, I think I have knit on 4 different projects today. Son's sock, waiting for him to try it on before finishing off the toe. A shrug/kimono type thing for myself. Another sock and a blanket. :)

Red78 07-30-2022 05:58 PM

Awesome.. I'm knitting a poncho, have been for 3 years hahaha. I finished a big slouch beanie a few weeks ago but it's a bit big for me, it's very rastafarian.
Knitting good to keep ya occupied when not drinking.. I gave up drinking for 3 months in 2018 and I knitted so many beanies..

Just in case anyone doesn't know :)

We'll move this thread at the end of the month so that the new monthly thread (August 2022) can take its place here in Newcomers forum.

This July 2022 thread stays intact, but moves to the Daily Support forum.

Some members, may prefer to move to August's thread, but there's no rule about that at all - stay here, move, or post in both - it's really up to you

I wanted to remind everyone you're all very welcome to keep posting in this thread.

It will keep going :)

Greetings from England!

Welcome Gundog. :)

Thanks Dee! I can't believe it is already the end od the month!

Red I bet your slouchy hat is amazing! I am quite addicted to fiber and kniting. Its nice to have a good addiction that doesn't poision our body.

Day 7. I will be extra vigilant for the next week or two. I really do not want to redo this first bit ever again. Geeze. Gonna stick close to SR. I also really want to be 100% present for oldest son's senior year. And the last bit of being in my 30's and on to being fully sober through my 40's! Quite a bit of motivaton on both fronts. 💜

I feel once we hit our 40s things start to change, I'm 44 Yr old female, I have found that my body doesn't respond the same way now, aches and pains etc and other bits and peices and I fully believe the booze has a lot to do with it for me.
I believe you can do Citrus, we've both been in several classes together it's gotta stick this time, we'll I hope so anyway 😊

Red78 07-31-2022 01:54 PM

Day 9 today, I'll probably jump over to the August class when it comes online.
I'm still not sleeping properly but that's because I'm drinking too much water in the evening, it's strange because I drank way more alcohol in the evenings than I am water but I never woke up needing to pee this much when I was on the wines..
I might have to work out a cut off time for water in the evenings..
Anyone else have this happen?

venuscat 07-31-2022 02:22 PM

Because alcohol dehydrates and water hydrates. :) But it's good. I drink a lot more water at night here in summer than I ever did in Aus and end up going to the loo a few times, but I fall asleep again in an instant. :)

Onward together. :) :grouphug:

Welcome gundog :)

Thanks Dee.

Hi everyone. Well tomorrow will be 3 weeks for me! Wow its been a rollacaster ride thus far.

I am in AA also but like the idea of online forum in addition to meetings.

Hope everyone is coping. I have detoxed before and the 1st 30 days can be hard, extremely hard. I have stuck by the HALT rule vigorously.

so If I was hungry I ate, angry talked to somebody or did some physical activity, lonely I sought company with my partner or family and my close friend. And finally tired. If you are in the position to sleep when you need to I believe this is crucial in recovery in the early days.

Wishes to all

Dee74 07-31-2022 05:42 PM

Congratulations on your graduation guys :c014:
