Welcome to the Overs Free and congratulations again on your first Soberversary. Settle in, draw up a chair, pour yourself a coffee and have a catch up.

Mags I love the free flowing poem! :)

Peej, enjoy the storms I hope it's the rain you need but not too much of it all at once.

We got some blessed rain here last night. No where near enough as Spain is struggling with drought at the moment. Off to golf again today. Oh the strain of retirement! :lmao

Welcome Free

Good morning all,

I woke up with a runny nose and a sore throat. I tested for covid and it came out negative but I will still lay low. I was going to a community get together this evening but will pass just to be sure.

I really don't feel that sick so will continue to try to get house and garden work done.

May you all have a good one.

Good idea BKA….sometimes the positive result doesn’t show up right away….hope you feel better soon!

Good Morning Overs:wave:

Cooler morning again, definitely autumnal.

Going out for lunch with Mr. Mags , Mil and her friend later. The place does gluten free meals too so ok for hubby.

Have a good day my friends. xxxx

Mags I did enjoy the golf, we had a competition and among 14 men and 2 women of varying abilities I won! It's just a weekly game we play with a society but it's a fun company and we had a great day. I also saw my first wild chameleon close up which was awesome, took some photos of it, as it stood still and posed for me! A slightly less exciting day today as we head to our favourite ice cream parlour for a treat. How's hubby getting on with his gluten free diet?

Hope you're feeling better soon Bekind, look after yourself as well as you look after everyone else :)

Have a great day all

Good morning all,

Toots, I want to go to Spain some day. I don't play golf but I do speak some Spanish.

I still have a cold but I feel better. I found some nyquil some guest left and am dosing myself with that.

I have yet to take another covid test but will this morning.

venuscat 09-01-2022 09:38 AM

Wow, toots. I have never even heard of these guys. :)

Good Morning Overs

Bekind hope you’re feeling better.

Toots, good work on the golf win! Hubby’s gluten free is going ok now we’ve got our heads round it. I buy schar gf flour and he makes his own carrot cake with nuts and raisins (and carrots! :) ) looks more like a fruit loaf.
As long as he has home made meals and knows what goes in them, he’s fine. Good to know some restaurants have gluten-free on the menu.
I’ve never looked at the labels on food so much but maybe it’s a good thing too. He’s going to try baking gf loaves. Up until now I’ve been able to get plenty reduced from a Co-op shop.

Off to Derby today to see the hand therapist. We’ve also had some activity from the solicitors yesterday so hoping we’ll be signing contracts in the not too distant future. It’s gone on too long. Thank goodness I don’t drink. I’d be making a right drama of it all if I was.

Have a good day my friends. xxxx :grouphug:

Bekind, neither are a prerequisite for visiting Spain! :lmao though the Spanish do appreciate when you at least make an attempt at the language. I'm better now at speaking and understanding some, and more brave at trying out my skills.

Suze he was looking kinda dull when we first met him, as he was blending into the concrete path he was walking on, but within moments of climbing onto the grass his pigment began to alter, it was fascinating!

Mags, hubbys carrot cake sounds worthy of a trip for a slice! :)

Golpf again today, though I don't expect to reach the same giddy heights with this society, they have many better players than me. It will be a nice sunny day out with good folk.

90m physio, assessment / treatment . They (uni student under supervision ) focussed 90% on my back, not the leg. I know my back is so twisted and effed it takes a lot of pressure applied by the physio on 'knotted' muscles for it to be effective. It hurts to the point of feeling quite sick, but if I can tolerate dressing chamges on burns, this stuff is ok. Going to the uni campus- twinges of sadness...I enjoyed being a nursing lecturer, before my drinking destroyed it.
The physio worked amazingly well. The cost is $10, as opposed to $150 in a private physio practice.
Yesterday I managed maybe 3km walking over 3 walks.
Today Rox and I did 18k in 1 walk.
And I feel ok. Always with music- Evanescense and War of the Worlds (Richard Burton). I get a blessed few hours with the memories that cause me so much distress drowned out....but I remain always grateful for life, tainted as it is by perpetual sadness. I keep moving, trying, fighting.
The shop swapped over the cables with little fuss.
The bank retreived all the money scammed from my account, more than enough to pay my energy bill.
Came home from walk. Tended to Rox's food first.
Put my food on to cook.
Came into lounge. She has taken over half the big couch, pushed my back supporting cushion out o the way and fallen asleep. First time she has done this.

PJ, sounds like things are working out. Glad you have Roxy in your life.

Stopped to visit Fran yesterday. She seems to be doing much better. Her daughter's family is taking her up north for the holiday weekend and she's looking forward to the trip.

Have a Fantastic Friday, overs!

Saskia 09-02-2022 06:21 AM

PJ, Roxy looks so relaxed! She is learning to trust you

FBL, that’s good that Fran has something to look forward to.

Mags, your hubby sounds creative :c015:

Hi Toots, Suze, Bekind, Dee and everyone :grouphug:

Bekindalways 09-02-2022 06:47 AM

Good morning all,

My sniffles are slowly going away. I'm still wondering if it is covid and will test a 3rd time today.

I managed to get a bit done yesterday: loaded and ran the dishwasher, took apart and sanded a bit more of the steps, washed and stained a ski rack.

Today's big plans: unload the dishwasher, take another covid test, do a trash run.

May you all be headed for a good one this second of September.

venuscat 09-02-2022 09:14 AM

Healing love to you dear Bekind and PJ  s ❤️

I hope today went well, Mags love. ❤️

PhoenixJ 09-02-2022 03:33 PM

I hope you are ok Bekind.
That's good about Fran FBL. You are a good man .
Carrot cake- my elderly neighbour was given a family sized walnut and carrot cake- with layers of icing. She offered me a 'piece'. It was at least 1/4 of a whole cake. Yum.

Mags1 09-02-2022 10:26 PM

Good Morning Overs

PJ, that’s how I think of carrot cake with some fondant on the top, how lovely of your neighbour to share hers with you. Mr. Mag’s cake is more like a fruit loaf I think. This is a pic of the first one he baked a few weeks ago. He’d sliced a piece from the end while it was still warm! :biglaugh:

Toots, yes, come and have some cake! :)

Thanks Suze, yesterday went fine except for getting lost on my way home. All’s well though. :)

Have a good day my friends, lots of love xxxx :grouphug:
