He beat me to post.

Glad he's donning those trousers.

Great job, Fradley. For what it's worth - I bet she loves it.

Re above:

Client called - and she is 100% unhappy.

There was clearly a misunderstanding in the brief - but nothing like a train smash.

I was pretty " OK - so how are we going to fix this and what can I do to help"

And she was " OMG - I've wasted time and we have gone no where...very emotional and irrational - especially when I gently pressed her on what she actually did expect to see".

Now faced with a choice of continuing the conversation ( shouty match) by email - or letting things settle for a while ( it is 5pm Friday afternoon here - not the best time to get into a business / possibly contractual discussion )

Whatever - I clearly screwed up in some respect, and happy to accept my part in failing to communicate properly - but I'm loathe to just 'let it go completely' - especially as there is a fee equivalent to two months rent at stake here.

Bloody hell. Life is never easy on this planet is it?

Love you all

Fradley

Oh gosh, damn. I do not approve of that woman's behaviour....not in a business transaction. I am sorry....and yes, your approach is really good I think....let her calm down. And perhaps when she does she will be more rational....I am thinking that she did not clearly communicate what she wanted and then got in a big tizzy.

I would tell her again (if presented with the opportunity) that you can work together to make this what she wants.

I'm sorry this happened. Chin up. And I feel like saying something sexist about women and tantrums and maybe I can because I am one and I have them?

 ♥

Apologies to all of the lovely balanced women who do not have hissy fits. And please teach me your magic. ♥

nyala 04-06-2018 08:46 AM

Thanks Venuscat xx

You have cheered me up a lot. Its good to have confirmation and I know you'd give it to me straight if I was off track.

Your assessment is correct as far as my experience with her goes.

FWIW I'm well in touch with my inner girlie and well capable of having a hissy fit too - although I normally have the argument with my inner boitjie inside my head.

Business is business.

Moving on ... calm, calm, calm

F

Good morning everyone!

Fellow hissy fitter 🙋🏻 That sounds like a band “The Hissy Fitters”

Well remember the gorgeous light fixture I bought? I’m on the hunt for a new one. It’s just not bright enough for the dinning room 😢 this one will move into my stairway so not all is lost. I’m really bummed though, I love it.

Have a great Friday everyone!!

CaseyW 04-06-2018 12:22 PM

Maybe you could just buy another one of the same light fixtures and put them both in the dining room. Two is always better than one, right? Or is that just my alcoholism speaking?

PeacefulRain 04-06-2018 01:24 PM

That might cost me a small fortune. I would have to put in 2 new electric areas in the ceiling for each fixture then have the existing one taken out and my ceiling patched, textured and repainted. I can’t move my table with the layout of my house and the current fixture hanges over the center of my table.

Just getting a new fixture was a fight with my husband, if I suggested that he’d either kill or divorce me 😝

When I lived in Portland, Oregon I used to visit this store called Rejuvenation all the time. I’ve bought a few lamps here, which I have grown to treasure, and I love their website. I remember the picture you posted of your light fixture and loved it. Perhaps something in the Lighting Dept here will strike your fancy...

I'm in. Bass guitar.

trachemys 04-06-2018 02:47 PM

First album titled: "How to Fit a Hissy"

venuscat 04-06-2018 02:52 PM

Nick is in. I converted him. He knows now.... ;)

"How To Fit A Hissy" is going to be a major success. :)

trachemys 04-06-2018 03:00 PM

I want the tambourine gig.

ManInTheArena 04-06-2018 03:24 PM

I'm not much of a hissy fitter (although maybe I'm not the best judge of that), so if I can't be in the band I'm happy to be a roadie - or even just a fan!!

First single from the album - "If the Hissy Fits"

A decent day of work - things a little shaky on the home front, but doing my best to stay positive :)

Tomorrow I will be back to 3 weeks - so I'm not drinking now.

LillianGish 04-06-2018 03:30 PM

I’ve got a fever....and the only prescription is...

COWBELL!!!

I’d like to play the cowbell please.

“If the hissy fits....wear it”

I'll start the punk rock version--The Fissy Hitters.

Edited for stupid autocorrect. I don't have my new phone trained properly yet. Though unlike my old dumb smartphone, I can actually access this website from this newer dumb smartphone.
