I’m in January (Friday will be 30 days! Yes!) and maybe this goes in the gratitude forum but I just want to say how much I appreciate that someone created SR and that Dee and the other mod(s) are so helpful and active. I wish I could post more but it sure is helpful to read and lurk regardless. Excited for those who join in February!

Hello all,

I'm currently on Day 7 - alcohol free.
Previously to that, I'd had 14+ months sober but succumbed to 'drinking because you're boring' peer pressure during the Christmas holidays! A moment of weakness on my part...
Have since removed 'said' peer pressure from my life (toxic so-called friends) and happily moving onwards and upwards.
Hope it's okay to join the Feb class with you all?
Besides 'not drinking' I also need to start being more social, instead of hiding behind my blog and start offering my support to others...Happy February to you all! :grouphug:

I’m in! Couldn’t wait to join. At day 2. I’ve been part of these classes years ago but never made it past 30. I think it’s different this time. Really do. Looking forward to posting with all my Feb friends and supporting each other.

And yes, a big thank you to the mods who make this place what it is. Some of you have been here so long! I appreciate your time and commitment to helping others get sober. :tyou

Hello February group,

Iv'e been struggling to stay sober for 4 years. It's been a journey of learning and growing, failures and successes. I'm not sure where I am on the sober train, but I know that I need support.

Blessings to you all, wherever you are on your journey.

Hi February group

It's 0700 hours on the first Feb here in UK.
Didn't get a chance to see the super moon last night but it looked pretty amazing this morning.
In fact I haven't stopped howling yet!

How did the super moon look from where you are.

Thanks D from 180 degrees round the globe.😁

TheForce 01-31-2018 11:24 PM

Hey everyone!!! I’m on day 2 and honestly finding this site has gotten me extremely motivated! I’m ready to rock through February sober, and come here everyday to mark off another 24 hours with no alcohol! I’m also quitting cigs, I only actually smoke when drinking so two birds one stone! Let’s do this guys!! :D

Outonthetiles 02-01-2018 12:03 AM

Welcome Febs. My favorite month. It worked for me and it can work for you! You're gonna love sobriety.

Dustitoffman 02-01-2018 12:08 AM

Hi all, I relapsed in December and am just now coming back. I thought I would have just one beer. It's been a long, hard couple of months. I hope I learned something from it.
Now, the quitting all over again part. Very hard for me, but I am determined!
I'm joining the February class. Will post tonight to (hopefully!) let you know how my day one went.
Thanks everyone.

Bumblebee2 02-01-2018 03:51 AM

I’m going this group. I need to make some serious and positive changes in my life... cause what I have been doing isn’t working for me.

Dee74 02-01-2018 03:55 AM

Welcome back Sober369 :)

TheForce 02-01-2018 04:02 AM

Yes, Dusty!! We got this! I love all the support on this site. Thanks Dee! I also was not able to see the moon! Dang it ;(

Hey Sober! So proud of you, i know how hard it is starting and then falling down. I think it’s not important how many times you fall down but that you don’t stop picking yourself back up and trying.

I hope that your day goes amazing, and I think that this quote from Jon Krakauers book “Into the Wild” might help everyone get through today with a little positivity:

”I read somewhere... how important it is in life, not necessarily to be strong, but to feel strong.”

Prosper 02-01-2018 04:20 AM

Welcome February. Day 10. I fought my first real cravings yesterday.

taplow 02-01-2018 05:56 AM

This is Day 5. I had an epileptic seizure this morning - not alcohol related - so am having a nothing sort of rest day, just lying on the sofa, eating, watching TV, being on the computer.
Doing nothing is allowed today. But whatever, I certainly won't be drinking.

Jewel72 02-01-2018 06:20 AM

Good morning Feb Friends!

Taplow, sorry to hear about your seizure but yes, enjoy your day of relaxing and recovering.

Dusty, didn’t see the moon. Keep howling.......it’s way better than drinking.

Welcome all! I look forward to posting with you the entire month of Feb. Good day!

Gem010918 02-01-2018 06:38 AM

Welcome February joiners! I look forward to reading your posts and will be rooting for you all to make it through the month sober with grace, humility and positive milestones!

Mavie 02-01-2018 07:30 AM

Good morning everyone! Welcome to the new friends!

I am on Day 18 and loving it! I think I've made it through the worst of it now. The nightmares are rare, the sweats are gone...the cravings come and go with certain small triggers, but so far have not been overwhelming or hard to fight off if I put my mind on something else.

To all of you just starting out: It is worth it. Stay the course. When you feel like giving up remember why you started. And make the next 24 hours count!

xo

SpiralingUpward 02-01-2018 07:36 AM

Hello,

I'd like to join this class. I've gone months and months without drinking, but I always seem to end up back at square one. I found this site and thought, the support perhaps might give me more tools to quit for good.

Thanks,
SU
