Nice, Axe! So many problems spring up around alcohol; so many things resolve when it goes away.

Happy holidays to you, too, and anyone else lurking about :)

RetiredGuy 12-24-2017 09:50 PM

Merry Christmas, classmates!

Had a f-it moment where my AV got a little loud. I need my wife in the next phase. She’s doing good things but we need to set a goal and be more serious. She’ll laugh or brush it off, but we need to clean, do major house projects, eat bettter, and be more active With no excuses

I'm glad you worked it through ase :)
Remember, No matter what happens, or who comes on board, or doesn't - your av has absolutely no say in anything - you have control, man :)

My AV plays the need to/I should trick, too. It's a setup for failure, and a great way to get spun up for no reason :rotate:

Hi former classmates of Feb,
reading along here, great to see so many have continued on. Congratulations.
I'm back on the sober adventure....closing in on 40 days right now and enjoying it a great deal.
Joined a more current class....but I find I don't really relate that well now. I'm maybe a little more practised at basic sober and looking to try and take the next step to something more lasting.

I've learned that if you do relapse it really is harder to get back every time. Which is a big incentive to maintain.

So.....thought maybe I'd hang around here a bit as an apprentice.

Once again, congratulations and all the best for 2018

good to have you back here canguy :)

axe, that's really great.....

Congratulations.

Good to hear from you Canguy! I agree, in my many attempts to stop drinking, each new attempt became progressively harder to embark on. Give yourself a pat on the back for getting back on the horse once again.

Thanks Retired.
Starting on seventh week now.....weekends are the hardest moments, but generally daily life is much improved and productive. Stuff gets done. I sleep.
Picked it up physically by running week mornings, only a about 3k a day.

I think perhaps I've gotten better at coasting through the difficult moments. Learned that they will pass.....and that, ok, don't feel 100% with it right now but that doesn't have mean soaking everything with alcohol.

Just keep kicking along I guess.....

Canguy, when I was about 20 years younger I was big into running. I attribute the natural high from running as the reason for a relatively long sober period back then. I even got into entering races and worked myself into shape to run two marathons. Maybe you should enter a local 5k to start, it would give you something to do on the weekends!

Good on ya canguy! (Did I get that right it's been awhile since that conversation on here!) "Running only 3k"??? I'm in a lot better shape today than I was 10 plus months ago but it's still predominantly round. Pretty sure 3k would cause immense pain. I prefer lifting heavy things and setting them down. I've never liked running unless it involved chasing a ball but to each their own and keep after it my friend. Axe and everyone else good job stay after it
