I hit 5 months on Saturday. Totally didn’t notice until Sunday. Something about that makes me doubly happy!

Well done Axe. I think living life to the point that you don't notice something like that can be a good thing. Congrats on your success

Keep it up Ax. I am amazed about how I keep feeling better as each sober month comes and goes.

G'day all.
Thanks for the encouragement!
I've made it to 50 days. Its been a good and productive time, much calmer this time. Thinking seems slightly different this time round......time up doesn't imply that drinks are deserved now. It feels like a different life in itself.

All the best everybody.

That's great to hear, canguy. Sobriety really does make life seem less frantic.

Yeah it's meant to be based on the month you got sober, but tbh there's no hard and fast rules Riverin

welcome

Hi Rivenin, and welcome. I'm a lapsed and returned member.....so no hard and fast rules here. The ppl here are mostly getting into months and months now, so its good examples, lessons learnt and encouragement.

Welcome Rivenin. It's a good place with some incredible folks to help on the journey!

For the first in my journey to sobriety I am looking forward to something (1 year sober) rather than looking back at all the struggle, guilt, trials and tribulations it took to get here. Don't get me wrong I remember it all and still have a plan and still have to fight off the beast but it just seems to be easier to look forward these days than to dwell on the past and that feels GREAT! Happy Sunday everyone

Hi Rivenin. Welcome to the class!

I'm trying to get my head wrapped around the one year mark, and yet also not overthink it. Sobriety feels like a natural part of me now.

thanks guys! I love the support here!
This is my main support structure... my wife gets really weird when i try to talk about it, so i don't bother her with it. my local AA meetings were a bit odd, so i hadn't returned yet, but i'm heading to a SMART meeting tomorrow evening after work to see how they are and such. it's about 50 miles away, but i love driving and it'll make it seem more significant i'm sure for me, more of a mission in my head
Thanks guys!

What is everyone's Febuary date?
Mine is the 12th! Last drink was around 7:34pm on the 11th if memory serves... i had it logged into a beer app i once had to track the different beers i've tried. I'd check, but it's a little rough digging through those old posts.

Hi Rivenin,

My last drink was on Feb. 4. I can't believe that it will soon be a year!
Have you checked out Rational Recovery/AVRT? That , and these forums, are what helped me.

Wishing you the best of luck.

I'll have a year on the first, actually. Also, what Dau said — AVRT worked best for me, too.

Well that makes three of us. I only read a little on AVRT and read these forums and one year is only a couple of weeks away!
