Sorry to hear about your trip Sunshine. I hope you get to plan another soon.

Kona, You're doing great! I'm following you with Day 2. Let's keep putting one foot in front of the other. Everyone says it gets easier with time. We just have to give it time. Let's roll!

Day 1 for me (again). I am so low at the moment and can't shake this horrible feeling. I did have nearly 2 weeks sober in June so I did plenty more days of not drinking then when I did.

I really need to do this for my own sanity. I will be logging onto SR everyday and us Julyers can support each other. Anyone else on Day 1 with me?x

Day 2 here. Just finished work and had some cravings for cold beer but I'm not going to follow that thought. It's only a thought, it'll pass.
I'm playing tennis in an hour, so that will keep me out of trouble during the rest of the 4pm to 8pm cravings slot. Been feeling a little jittery today, but I but reading everyone else's positive and determined posts helps a lot.

Day 2 for me as well. I feel better just for having gotten past Day 1. I will pass on all alcohol today.

So many things I have read on here that resonate. I need to read up on Dee's plan-making. Only I am supposed to be working right now. :)

I will continue to claim what is rightfully mine - my life.

Teetotaler56 07-06-2017 12:31 PM

Day 2 also. (Last Day 2 ever!)

Norway75 07-06-2017 02:02 PM

Hello everybody - Day 4 for me - good to see you all :-)

Viperidae 07-06-2017 02:16 PM

After 13 days, on Day 1 again. I went to AA, got a 24 hour chip, spoke and cried. Let's hope this improves for me.

Good luck everyone. Luv ya!

Viper

Welcome susie anton and viper - any ideas on what you guys could add to your 'sober toolbox' this time?

Wishing everybody in this class the best.:grouphug:
Nearly 4 years ago I joined a July class and have been sober since.
So, yes, it can be done.
You never truly fail unless you give up on the goal.

Day 2 today - had a fabulous sleep last night. I think some of those knots in my stomach may have untangled and feeling a little better. Off to see the counsellor now.

Hi Dee,
Meditation is something I'm trying to use more. I've done it on and off for years but never specifically to help with addiction. There are good resources out there: Refuge Recovery podcasts are good but but you've got to be tolerant of the Buddhist angle...

For those (like me) quitting without an outside program, I thought I'd share this link. How to Quit Drinking without Alcoholics Anonymous: 5 Steps

Good Morning Stubbs. I hope you'll be feeling better soon. Just get in all the R & R you can until you're feeling more like yourself.

I'm on Day 2. I've been reading some of the wonderful information that Dee shared in making a plan. I'm pulling out my notebook and pen right now and getting started.

I'm determined that yesterday was the last hangover I will ever go through again.

I'm so glad to be in this class with all of you! :grouphug:

Thanks. Im still not feeling quite myself just yet.Closing in on my first week, and usually I feel better after the first few days. Just had physical last month, labs ok, so maybe its just a flu? More determined then ever, to stay on track. I want to feel good, lose some lbs, but more then all that, be free from the bondage addiction has put me in. Hope everyone is doing well! Have a good day.
