Received no reply. Guess you're pretty busy with your garden.

Bill.

Suze's power went out; her device may have run out of juice.

I will post again when I get it fixed up a bit.

Gardens like a day off once in awhile, too. Looking lovely your way! I love flowers like you. DH said no more flowers. You can't eat em. I said you don't have to can em either. LOL.

Yes....we had an issue and our power has been cut off. Very annoying, especially since it is so hot today. Nick came home from work and borrowed power from the next-door neighbour, and we hooked up an assortment of extension cords and power boards. We need more so we can have a fan on in our room tonight....but fairly industrious of us I think.

Hot and hungry and tired though....and earlier I was angry. Not a good look for someone in recovery.

And yes Carlos! Most definitely ~ it's a date. June whatever suits you. I cannot wait!!! :)

Sorry Bill, I haven't had time to look at messages today.

I think Nick would let me buy every plant in Columbus if I wanted to....he is almost as incorrigible as I am. :)

And no need to eat the flowers when Wendy's is so close. ;)

Love those plants, too, Suze.

Hope that your power is restored soon.

Is it forecasted to cool down tonight?

venuscat 04-20-2017 01:19 PM

Yes....crazy weather.....feels like I am in Melbourne at this point. It's 82 right now, going to be 66 tomorrow and 53 on Saturday....very hard to adjust.

Thanks for posting the Sandhill Cranes, Suze.

Despite the admonishment of my husband, I worked up the nerve to get closer and took another closer shot.

Those birds are totally awesome and still here.

Just sent it to you.

Thanks for telling me. Sorry to hear that. Hope they're O.K. and that the power comes back on. Could the squirrel be munching on the power lines. Hope he doesn't get fried.

Bill.

We once took a cruise of the Greek Isles and there was some talk of "Vestal Virgins". There were two English girls on the ship who were vegetarians and they came to call themselves the Vegetable Virgins. Although I am uncertain of its relevance to this thread I am still passing this on for further study and reflection. Certainly there is a great deal of gardening going on and I think vegetables have been mentioned from time to time. I mention this in the anonymity of the SR sanctum rather than on Twitter or Facebook, as has been done by certain persons in Washington, D.C. :dee

Hi

I've just seen you have moved to Columbus, OH. An old school friend of mine moved there when we were about 14 and I was lucky enough to go and visit her in 1988.

We've lost touch now but I believe she is manager of a a bar in The Short North.

What a small world

You remember! lol I do serve a salad with impatiens on a rare occasion.

And you can never have too many flowers (friends). :)

We could trade, 54 tomorrow, 60s Saturday, Sunday 40's and snow.

Hope your power is back on. At least we have a nice warm stove in the kitchen. Love wood heat but we have backup, too.

The main things to worry about are the plants and the squirrel guarding them (and maybe munching on them from time to time). Perhaps there are rabbits. The squirrels and rabbits might be blown away by the wind or they might get cold. Would it be wise to invite them indoors? I doubt that these animals are house trained, but that should not be a big issue under the circumstances. Hope you can hunker down all you blokes and mates!

Bill.

Bill.

You don't need any bunnys. They ate all my rose bushes and garden seedlings last year. Unless, they are indoor bunnys.
