I loved it too! I got more great replies over night. It seems boredom in early sobriety is normal. It's a combo of the AV, not knowing what to do with ourselves & restlessness. It sounds like I'm just going through normal early sobriety stuff.

My AV is a bugger!!! It's trying to get me from all angles but it won't! It can't MAKE me drink!

Ladybug, enjoy your morning with your baby. What a blessing that she has a sober mommy. I can already see the difference in my kids too. :-)

Beerbgone-I choose not to drink today either!!! My AV is quiet in the mornings but starts stirring about noon but I am armed and ready for it!!! Have a nice day. :-)

My biggest trigger is hunger. My AV uses hunger to really kick in! When I was drinking I wouldn't eat all day until late evening and then it was pass out time. Next day started all over again!

My biggest triggers are definitely hunger but also ANGER. I'm not an angry person but I don't like rude people or people that try to mess with me. For example, my mother n law was extremely rude to me on Easter for no reason (she later apologized) but my "fight or flight" response kicked in after she yelled at me & I wanted to just run out the door and drink! I've come to the conclusion that I'm just not good at feeling my feelings yet. Hopefully I'll get there as time goes on. (((Praying)))

I luv kitties Mish. Does your kitty do that regularly or was this just a one time thing?

Just remember that alcohol won't make anything better! That has become my mantra!

Kayak, are you close to Myrtle Beach or Hilton Head? We go to both of those places fairly often. :-)

I am two and a half hours away from Myrtle Beach. Next month I'm doing a 50 mile kayak trip that will end at Edisto Beach very excited

Well...I have 9 days today. Almost in the double digits. Yesterday was BRUTAL and felt like the longest day of my life! My AV screamed in my ear on and off for 10 hours! It was crazy! By the grace of God and you guys, I made it through though.

Busy weekend ahead with all the kids sports. I don't think I will be bored this weekend. I need to make sure I stay sober though! I'm scared of my AV. I'm scared it will talk me into drinking. It's odd that I look at my AV as something "separate" from me that can "force" me to drink. Logically I know it can't but I just get scared of those monster cravings & going on auto pilot.

Does anyone else feel that way?

Well...I didn't sleep very well last night so I'm giving myself permission to go back to sleep for a little bit now that the kids are in school. I'm gonna snuggle with my puppy. She's so sweet. Love her!!!

I'll check in later. Love u guys! :-)

Mish I'm holding and rocking one of my little sushi rolls right now.

Seriously though- I need someone to swaddle me up and sing to me and rock me to sleep some days. Is that too much to ask?! :lmao:

Yes, I think this is a key component right now, too. We've been numbing our emotions so much that we aren't used to being in tune with ourselves. We have to relearn how to do that.
