Admitting to the cravings is a great first step, Applekat. Drinking is not a solution, it will only cause more issues. If you haven't done so already, make sure you're not hungry and keep yourself well-hydrated with your non-alcoholic beverage of choice. I recommend ice cream. It's the cure for near-everything. Hope you'll check in often and keep us updated. We're here for you! Remember you really don't have to take that first drink today no matter what. Those thoughts have no real power over you as long as you don't put them into action. |
Thanks CaseyW - it's going well. Feel like crap but |
Feel rubbish physically but knowing its temporary and I won't be hungover and have the fear then it's much better of the two evils- I am utterly exhausted being me and maintaining this lifestyle . |
Just hanging out in here, waiting for 6pm. That's when the shops stop selling alcohol. 62 minutes to go. |

Hi all! My mood is quite a bit better today thank goodness. This cold is just lingering. It's not awful just enough to make me feel stuffy and sluggish. I'm looking forward to this afternoon and the next few days. My boys have a half day and the the next two days and Monday off for spring break. We are planning on going to spend some time at a nature center with hiking trails and maybe the zoo. Our weather is being a little wonky. Mid 70's today but much cooler tomorrow. Our outings will also depend on when my chick's begin to hatch. We might want to be close to home Friday. Welcome newcomers!! This class is so full, lively, helpful and full of great energy! I just love it! |

Fabela I saw that you like to knit? Tell me about what you are working on now. :) I love to knit and spin. Hoping to keep your mind occupied! ;) This is what I have been doing this winter: The pattern is called Marius, and I have knit 4 sweaters for kids (with pants) and one adult size. I have also made slippers and mittens using a cool technique, I use pure wool yarn, knit HUGE pieces and then I throw them in the washing machine and they shrink. It makes them very warm and insulated, and if they get wet they still keep you warm. I'll see if I can find pictures. |
These are the mittens: http://www.epla.no/media/u/shops/146...org_medium.jpg ...and these are the slippers: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-YkxUePhWjG...U/s640/026.JPG |
Oh those are lovely! I love the colorwork! What weight yarn do you use? I normally onay felt on accident! Lol. I bet those are snuggly and oh so warm! I tend to stick to socks, shawls and baby knits. Mostly socks though, talk about addictive! |

That is huge! Hmmm, that sounds like bulky weight? What size needles do you use? |
Recipe (slippers) European size 36 (38) 40 Cast on 30 (40) 50 sts with no. 6 needle. Knit back and forth 28 (30) 38 times. Now you need 5 needles, join the two ends together and knit round and around (35) 42 rounds. Decrease 7 (10) 10 sts. evenly distributed, for 3 (3) 4 rounds. Break yarn and pull through the remaining 9 (10) 10 sts. Sow the back of the slippers, and throw into the washing machine, 60 degrees Celsius. Please let me know if there is something you don't understand! :D |
Awesome! I'm guessing that is a UK 6 and 5 needle? |
