Oh my, I hope you sleep well tonight, Potamus.

The sleep deprivation messed with my mind today. I'm ok though.

I've come a long way. In the past, going without sleep would've sent me into a tailspin. I was able to handle it well today.

Two years and ten months of sobriety helps.

Being resolute is what makes it work.

Hi SP,

Sounds like you are doing well. I hope you get some sleep tonight.

It can take a very long time for numbness to go away, so don't sweat that yet.

Soberpotamus 02-12-2016 11:58 PM

I fell asleep around 7 p.m. and slept until just after midnight. I'm wide awake now. Not sure why, after a grueling seven hour work day (it's usually 4 hours), I woke after five hours. Maybe it's from lying in bed for a month? Lol.

I bought the supplements to help get rid of swelling. I ordered bromelain, quercetin, a good quality vitamin C, and a good quality vitamin D. Already have the turmeric.

venuscat 02-13-2016 12:03 AM

Seven hours of work J?
That's a lot!
It might sound simplistic, but you may be overtired now.
Your body is going to take some time to get it's natural rhythm back.

The supplements sound good...turmeric is supposedly wonderful for inflammation, and I am a huge believer in Vit C for rebuilding the immune system. :)

I'm starving now. Maybe that's why I woke up early. I'll eat and try to fall back asleep.

Otherwise, I'll just read. :)

I'm happy that I'll see the sunrise today after being rested, and not as I'm drifting off to sleep!

Can't wait for coffee time and NPR. Makes me happy. :)

It's the little things...

I seriously don't do well having routines compromised.

Soberpotamus 02-13-2016 01:49 AM

Routines being broken aren't so terrible, now. In the first two years, yes. Not so much anymore. I've just realized that. I'm not as rigid anymore. Thank goodness.

Btw, yesterday he told me I can have both dogs when we go our separate ways. I'm glad he isn't going to fight me.

venuscat 02-13-2016 02:19 AM

trachemys 02-13-2016 02:27 AM

Don't it suck being up this early?

venuscat 02-13-2016 02:28 AM

Hey trach, I love you....just saying.

Got any more jokes? :)

Soberpotamus 02-13-2016 02:47 AM

Trach, it's really quiet. :)

I'm in bed reading and drinking club soda.

It's not that bad.

Why are you awake?

trachemys 02-13-2016 03:25 AM

Gotta work a Saturday. Company needs the production, turtle needs the money.

Thanks for the love.

Soberpotamus 02-13-2016 05:25 AM

Trach, I hope you have a good day.

Soberpotamus 02-13-2016 05:27 AM

Swelling is at its lowest today. I can tell its receding.

The thing about the swelling... The doc explained that until it goes away, there will be numbness. It's causing pressure on the nerve. Makes sense. So my goal is to try to knock out the swelling asap with those supplements, and get my feeling back.

That is a relief.

Breakfast #1 was scrambled eggs with cheddar & orange juice.

Breakfast #2 was a bowl of cheesy pasta -- fettuccine, butter, half & half, cheese.

Lunch #1 will be protein smoothie with berries and yogurt.

trachemys 02-13-2016 01:44 PM

were any of those Elevenses? What about Elevenses?
