Hi
Im doing ok,Ive had the usually wobbles but there getting less and less. I rarely go to the pub, I explained to Hubby Im not comfortable in those surroundings. He has gone with his mate 3 Saturdays running and come home wasted. Sunday he looks dreadful and Im so grateful I no longer drink when Im seeing him suffer, why put our bodies through all that pain, just for a couple of hours buzz. I know he misses me going out with him to the pub and I have voiced my concerns over the amount hes drinking when out and hes encouraging his cricket buddy to go out too. Im happy doing my own thing. Ive joined the gym, Im walking a lot, taking lots of photos, visiting family and I had an interview yesterday for a job, Ive toyed with the idea of retiring but Im not ready but at 58 its not easy to find work. Im so enjoying not drinking, I have down days but I recognise its the addiction and wake up feeling better the next day

Good on you aw! That's awesome!

Maybe the job thing will happen. Sounds like you are doing a lot already....and it's working, so that's a good thing.

Maybe down the track you could look at volunteering, and that might lead to a day or two of paid work? Anyway, not advice perse, just a thought for down the track.

Always great advice Crois :-)

TGIF!!!

Well, for us on this side of the globe.
It's going to be beautiful weather this weekend.
Next Friday is Independence Day. I'm thinking of tacking on Thurs. and Monday to have a 5 day weekend.Woooooohoooo!
Bring on summer.

Its a rather damp day in the Uk so, Im hibernating. Ive not had a call with regards the job yet and she did say I would hear today. Im a believer if its meant to be it will be. I booked me and hubbys little holiday in July, 5 days on the east coast, we can take our dog so nice walks on the beach, if its sunny I may stay a few more days as Hubby needs to get back to play cricket. Ive been buying new clothes(money saved from not drinking ) and will be having a good clear out and taking things to the charity shops..

I love reading about success. Aw, you are doing great. Leshar I am glad you posted here and are reaching out. We do care about you. I spent the evening at the lake watching the sunset with my grandkids and daughter. I am loving being sober, playing till I am tired and just enjoying life. I posted one of my sunsets on the 24 hour club, but I think I will post one here too. My new picture is my dog Princess. I got her from the pound when she was five months old and I was 12 days sober. She has my heart. You all have a great day.

Me too aw. Very true.

Yes....I love your puppy, Huntington...I would love a pet..fluffy or scaly...just can't right now. But soon!

resolute50 06-27-2014 06:27 AM

Scaly?

Maybe a croc? ;)

Leshar 06-27-2014 06:43 AM

Nice to see your posts, aw. It sounds like you're making a lot of progress.
Thanks, Bob. I wonder sometimes if there is something wrong physically. June has been a horrible month.
Huntington, that is a lovely photo of your dog.

Hi Bob, just relaxing tonight too, watching some TV. Someone is shooting off fireworks and our dog is shaking like crazy - she absolutely hates fireworks and thunderstorms. Big baby!

Are you and your wife doing anything this weekend for your anniversary?

Morning from the Uk , its blinking chilly but not raining at the moment !
Well I am now employed again, I got a call last night at 6.30pm I was just on my way out and I thought it was my mate ringing to hurry me up, I said Bloody hell Im on my way, and this polite lady my new boss said Hi its Jayne !!! aaarrggg I did explain and she laughed. I don't start till October as the place still being built, I will be 59 by then so to everyone who thinks there too old as I did, think again, I also stopped dying my hair last year and Im a natural silver/dark bits which can be perceived as being old. I went out on a natural high, had juice and watched people get drunk, yawn, but Im the one feeling fresh today Im the one that went out with £10 and still got change. I now have 3 months off so its time to hit the gym get all the jobs done catch up with family and friends and hope we get some sunny days ..
