Glad you had a good experience Minion, let me know how thing progress for you , I have been debating AA meetings or trying one on one counseling.

Kell, sounds like you have a plan in the works, stay strong!

Anewpage, I read failure only occurs when you stop trying to succeed, keep on fighting , on to day 2 for you!

Welcome to all the newcomers.

One week! Woo hoo! Great job Badger!!

BTW: I'm adding the "failure only occurs when you stop trying to succeed" quote to my sober journal. That's great inspiration, thank you for sharing!

I have forgotten how to laugh I think. Anyway I am thinking of going back to a meditation class at a local Buddhist centre.

Hi Gwen. I had a small glimpse of sobriety last fall. Almost 6 months and it was the "one day at a time" that saved me. Keep focusing on the moment. You can do it :)

Hi findingtheway :) Great job making it through the weekend! Weekends have always been tough for me but I think if we can make it through the weekend surely we can make it through a Monday! :) Have a great day!

It Worked!

I calculated that I have saved well over

staying sober.

Hi Chicagoan, great job distracting yourself from the cravings. wow, $200! Maybe you should start saving what you would have spent on drinking and buy yourself something nice or go on a vacation :)

BTW: 3 weeks is a wonderful accomplishment!

As some of you may have read my dad was rushed into hospital the night before last. He is not in danger it turns out, but visiting hours clash with AA meeting times. So I will have to forgo the meetings for a couple of days at least. I've arranged to meet an AA buddy for a coffee this afternoon by way of compensation, so hopefully that will help.

Onwards!

Hi Mentium. Sorry about your dad I hope he gets well soon. Congrats on Day 8!

Welcome sweetenuff :) I don't think you failed! I think we have a horrible disease that plays mind games and tricks you into believing you are ok to drink. I get sick of it, too. But the good news is this can be your VERY LAST DAY 1! We just need to learn how to resist the cravings, one day at a time.

kellbell123 05-19-2014 04:31 AM

Just wanted to check in before heading to work. I hope everyone has a good sober day!

Hi all. I am going to jump in here if I may. I have been struggling since Spetember and keep relapsing. Just not stringing together a solid month of late, so, going to try a fresh start.

I have 2 days today. Been a roller coaster of a month here and there then back to the wine a few nights a week, and back to trying to be sober, rinse repeat.

Dee74 05-19-2014 05:06 AM

Welcome to you too Rochele :)

Mentally, I feel hopeful and strong today. Physically, I feel hungover. :( Headaches, a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach and pain in my lower abdomen and back. I think I must be dehydrated.

I'm sorry your not feeling well. Will you be getting to detox soon? Hopefully they can get you comfortable physically so you can focus on your sobriety. I'll be thinking of you and I hope it helps you get better. :grouphug:
