It was hard to be grateful this morning waking up to news of another mass shooting. A reminder there will always be chaos and senseless violence in the world. I am grateful that even though there is darkness, there is light also. There is more light in the world than there is darkness. There are more people wanting to do the right thing and help others than people who hurt and kill. I do have compassion for these people too, though, because they must be struggling so much inside. I am grateful for heroes and first responders, people donating blood and rushing to support others. I am grateful that there are politicians and folks out there trying to enact gun sense laws and improvements to our mental health system. I am grateful that there is always a lesson we can learn and we can become stronger humans through tragedy. Grateful for my safety at home. |
