Tonight I am thankful for:
  • An amazing place to stay tonight. :)
  • 41 days no alcohol
  • 139 days no cigarettes
  • Having planned ahead yesterday and the day before to make today a nicer day.
  • Doing more nice little things for myself, like throwing away the trash in the car and taking just a little extra time to organize stuff.
  • A nice cup of tea.
  • Taking better care of myself throughout the day than I used to.
  • Playgrounds. Nothing like swinging on a swingset, running around the grass, and going down the slides!
  • This guy gave me his number this morning. I'm not going to call, but it was nice knowing that he liked me.
  • My job. I really have an amazing job that gives me great opportunities. I work with great people. I get to do cool stuff.
  • I am thankful for a quiet evening before a long work week ahead.
  • Seasons. I love the way different places change throughout the year. There is something magical about it.
  • Summer. Right now, it is pretty much summer here. Already a few times I thought it was unpleasantly hot, so it's time to start wearing shorts and to be thankful for the sun and hot days!
  • I really have a lot to be thankful for.

DG0409 05-20-2013 06:19 PM

Tonight I'm thankful for:
  • 6 weeks no drinking!!
  • 20 weeks no smoking!!
  • A productive day at work
  • Having a nice place to stay tonight
  • Making it in safely
  • Fresh, finger-burning hot pizza.
  • Eating fresh finger-burning hot pizza while still finger-burning hot rather than waiting to have with drinks once arriving 'home'
  • Reminders today that I'm fortunate to be alive, safe, dry and warm.
  • Leftover pizza for later.
  • Feeling exhausted after a long day. I sleep well these days.
  • I'll dream tonight. It's still weird to me that I wake up and have dreams in my head still.

Awesome

Good for you, I am hoping for the same one day. I was sober for 3 weeks and thought I could drink moderately, was I wrong. It's day 3 for me.

DG0409 05-21-2013 06:48 PM

Tonight I'm thankful for:
  • 141 days no smoking.
  • 43 days no drinking
  • a nice long walk this evening
  • a productive day at work
  • rain!!
  • I'm still thankful for left over pizza. :)
  • tea
  • the woods
  • a cold stream to stick my feet in during my walk
  • eating healthy today
  • starting to make progress and feel more like my old self again
  • I think I might be even better than my old self
  • I am starting to do a better job at work and I think that will really start to pay off.
  • The power didn't stay out for too long today... although I kinda wished it would have stayed off!

Rusty Zipper 05-22-2013 03:52 AM

left over pizza is always a bonus DG! lol

DG0409 05-22-2013 04:00 PM

Tonight I'm thankful for:
  • 44 days no alcohol
  • 142 days no cigarettes
  • Being settled into a very nice place to stay for the night. I love it here! :)
  • Made a sale at work today.
  • Getting caught up at work... one day at a time. Part of me feels overwhelmed when I think of the things left to do, but at least I am working on the pile rather than paralyzed by the thought of it.
  • Many problems in my life are just disappearing. Many of them are things that I wanted to be better before and I couldn't understand why my life was falling apart and it was so hard to cope with.

DG0409 05-23-2013 05:05 PM

Tonight I'm thankful for:
  • 45 days no alcohol!!
  • 143 days no cigarettes
  • An awesome place to stay tonight. And it's my first night here. I always love the first night I get to spend at an awesome place. I'll be back here, I am sure. I couldn't ask for a better place to be for the night.
  • Looking forward to a nice walk around once I'm done catching up with a bit of posting on SR.
  • A long, productive day at work. It's a relief to be crossing things off my to-do list.
  • Getting my oil changed today. I probably wouldn't have bothered if I'd been drinking.
  • Feeling... content.
  • Screened-in porches on the side of the lake on a perfect summer evening.
  • Tonight, I'm thinking that my life is really pretty awesome.

DG0409 05-24-2013 06:25 PM

Tonight I'm thankful for:
  • It being Friday!!!
  • 46 days no drinking
  • 144 days no cigarettes
  • an awesome subway sandwich today
  • getting to tour a cool old house that is a historic site
  • A pretty drive through the woods
  • Having had a very productive work week and being at least a little more caught up on things. Took care of a cutomer that had been waiting on something for too long today and that was nice. Also think I got a new contract with another customer today, so I'm very pleased about that.
  • I am thankful that despite being behind a bit, I really have a great job and some awesome opportunities. I've learned a lot over the last few years and am really quite knowledgable in my field at this point...and aware that there is a ton I have left to learn!
  • Taking the time to see more stuff along the way!
  • Discovered a new drink that I really love- Chai tea with hot chocolate mix to sweeten it and a bit of milk. It's like all the awesomeness of chai tea and all the awesomeness of hot chocolate combined!! :) And it's kind of funny cause I never would have thought to try the hot chocolate if I'd had any sugar available. I think it is very interesting how constraints and limits can actually inspire creativity and discoveries.
  • Lots of green trees!
  • Time to unwind after a long week
  • Happy families

DG0409 05-25-2013 05:27 PM

Tonight I'm thankful for:
  • 47 days no drinking
  • 145 days no smoking
  • Paying off my credit cards today. Looking forward to actually feeling sane financially. So tired of working just to spend all my money on addictions that make me miserable. No more having to buy a drink... and then another at restraunts and other places I go where the prices are outrageous. No more going to the grocery store 3 times a week to stock up on alcohol. No more insane total every time I go to Wal-mart. No more spending $7 a day on cigarettes plus who knows how much on alcohol. Plus all the weed I was smoking (I've cut back A LOT since I quit drinking). And no more being drunk, stoned, hungover or whatever and making stupid decisions with my money cause I wasn't sober or didn't feel well since I was hungover. Less eating out and more eating healthy and simple. With all of that I should be able to actually start saving money and paying for the things that I really need.
  • A nice dinner (subway)
  • A day to just relax and do more or less nothing!

Rusty Zipper 05-26-2013 02:40 AM
