Hi everyone, I am grateful to be alive! Tuesday while I was putting a 6 ton pallet on the back of a trailer,the driver pulled away from the dock.The forklift fell down about eight feet with me sitting on it screaming.I thought I was going to die. God was watching over me though,and it came straight down giving me a big jolt but otherwise I was okay.In most cases like this the forklift driver is severely injured or does not survive.I have been thanking God constantly. I am taking some time off work now to physically and mentally recover from what was one of the most frightening experiences I have ever had. The fault was the truck driver's,who will probably lose his job.New safety policies have already been put into effect,requiring all trucks to be turned off,and the drivers to be in the building when being loaded. I am in a little pain from the jolt I took, but it is not too bad.I believe that I am still here today because of God's grace. God bless you all. |

Richie, I'm happy to hear you're OK, and hope that you're able to relax a little this weekend. That had to be frightening and nerve-wracking! I operated forklifts for a few years, sometimes drunk, I'm thankful that God was watching over me and protected me as well as everyone else. Sir Marty, congrats on your first week sober! One day at a time, my friend. It's a simple program for complicated people. Grateful for yet another fun weekend with my children ahead, what a blessing to live a clean and sober life. |
