Thanks all, for your warm replies and additional strength and hope, and experience.......I need all I can get. :)

Teach, we're going to Cape Canaveral. Anyone that is in the area can PM me if they'd like to meet up for lunch or something, or a swim. There's a pool.

I'd invite you ALL down to stay in a minute, but ALAS I'm having company for quite a few weeks of the vacation.

We're not leaving until the 29th, so plenty of time to pack up and attend meetings and get my recovery in accelerated mode.

I'm feeling quite fine, it's just like being on a teeter-totter, up/down/up/down.
Once again, I had my basket of hope filling up......darn it all...
I'm not as sad for me, as I am HIM. Not too much of a future being an addict, as we all know way too well.
And this time he had an actual full time job, far away from home. (my dream came true.) I sure was hoping that was a carrot in front of his nose, I was.

And, Marteen, as for the stolen money story, I too, had my doubts. Seems to me if an addict is SOBER and has money, and doesn't really KNOW who he's staying with, he'd keep that money close to him, doncha think?

Such is life.

thanks all...
Faith, I just keep telling myself, keep the faith.

Moose...
It's never too late until it's too late....
My exah is 39 and he's only 5 months into 'working' his recovery.
Many :ghug3 to you. It doesn't get easier but we get wiser as to how and how much we let it affect us.
Have a good time in Florida. Soak up some sun for me...I'm looking a bit pale these days.

CatsPajamas 01-02-2008 08:05 AM

And Moose, you might want to practice up on your synchronized swimming while you're in Florida. You never know when you might be called upon to give a demo!

Love ya

Dag nabbit, Moose.

I'm sorry to hear about all of this.
It doesn't matter how much recovery we have under our belt, it STILL hurts like crazy to see them stumble AGAIN.

Sending hugs, support and prayers your way...

Moose,

This has absolutely nothing to do with your AS or you, but I just had to say this.

Your dog looks like he is one kind of fun fella. The outfit is to die for. :c008:

Love you....and your dog cause both make me smile.

I don't know which way you're driving to Florida, but if you come through ASHEVILLE, give me a call...I can't drive all the way to Charlotte this time, my car needs some repairs. I'll pm the phone number.

mooselips 01-04-2008 01:05 PM

Thanks Trish, I Pm'd you back.

As for the continuing saga...
Son left this a.m. for California.
He just called, he's in Arizona right now on a layover.

Last evening, we had quite a heated chat, me and him, cause, (since he was robbed) he had no money to eat to get to California, and wanted, once again to borrow.
To put it simply, I caved, and gave him $25.00...

But, he also wanted to have his checks sent here like last time, and I said NO, won't be here, but you're smart, you'll figure it out.

The best part is his last check came today, and it's for $66.00, and when he called I told him I was keepin it.

WOW, a whole $66.00, I be dancing now.

So, I kinda, sorta, slipped....

Hugs,

Moose, You just have a great time in Florida. Your son will either learn to fly or not and you know that all your worrying and fretting will not change a thing. We are getting older and our years are getting shorter and we need to live our lives with as much joy and happiness that we can. I constantly remind myself that this is the only life I get and I need to make it the best. I still worry and feel badly that my daughter is wasting the good years of her life in a dinghy apartment with no job and no car and no money with a man that could be her father and is abusive but that is what she wants right now and who am I to judge. (Her mother, of course, doesn't that give us the right:)) Anyways sending hugs for a good trip and lots of sunny days. Hugs, Marle

MOOSE, GET A HOLD OF YOURSELF!

The way I see it is you didn't slip. You made 41 bucks! :c008:

(And you and I both know that is not near enough to reimburse you for all the other you've shelled out prior to recovery on your part.)

Hm, let's see. How much are those stones you wanted to purchase in Savannah? I bet the $41 will help cover them and then some. And you deserve them!

:lmao

Oh Moose, that wasn't a slip according to the Codie Manual...Page 29, paragraph 6, which reads...well, here, read it for yourself:

Any mama who gives a child or moose of whatever age $25 to eat is just doing what mama's do and that is not a slip...especially when said child causes migraines and is heading out of Dodge.

He's still in my prayers and right now I'm just praying that he knows what a great mama he has.

Big Hugs

Morning,
I must say, when other parents have missing kids, I feel quite guilty to say I feel relieved, when mine is miles away.
But mine calls each evening, and I know he's safe.

Hangin'
I bought those stones on a side street, heaven knows where, but I do want to stop there this year, if we go to Savannah on the ride back. I've looked for the place online, but can't seem to find it...darn.

Ann,
You tickled my heart this morning, thank you....
I really need the index you have for that Codie manual...ha ha

Hugs to all,

CatsPajamas 01-05-2008 08:44 AM

And I'm pretty sure paragraph 7 starts with Bless her heart...
