Wants to meet our child update

My wife surprised me in saying she was willing to offer my SIL and her 3 kids the opportunity to meet us and our little girl.

I responded to my SIL's request:

I mentioned the offer.

I also stated that our family (me, DW, and DD) will work to live free from criticism, judgment, and unequal treatment. That how we feel about how we're being treated directly impacts our comfort level. That we would decide what's best for our child.

That I had little trust in her, but was OK to see if she would respect our boundaries.

And asked her what would work for her.

I have yet to receive a response. (I sent it Wednesday - the other e-mails she responded within minutes)

She might respond some day. She might not.

I honestly would prefer no response. It would make the most sense, honestly. That she was really bluffing and only wanted my wife and I to bring our child to their big thanksgiving. And that she would have completely ignored us and smothered our child.

I feel good about being willing to compromise, but making my boundaries clear. It is the road less traveled and tough, but I feel good about it.
