^^^ That's very very cute J. :) |
Both cute, Lunar and SP. :) |
Yay, holiday! Planning to be only slightly less lazy than yesterday. |
Lunar's roosters and your frothy lattes are fun to wake up to. :) I am saving the best hippo meme I have found for tomorrow. I just discovered it. Wish I'd posted it today, lol. |
Aw, c'mon--post it! I'm also the kind who can't wait till Christmas to open the presents! |

Success at last...off to bed. :grouphug: |
Finally finished The Once and Future King. I must say when I was a teenager I was a huge Stephen King fan. I know genre fiction is not highly regarded, and in many cases that is justified but I still think SK can do the most informative characterisations in the fewest words I used to read a lot about Africa too, dreamed I would make my fortune there Lol! If you are fortunate enough to have a fortune Africa is the place to lose it |
I was thoroughly mesmerized by The Once and Future King when I read it. I still think of The Sword in the Stone rather often: I remember that when Wart was standing in front of the Sword, voices of the animals who had taught him in his childhood were reminding him to use the strengths they gave him. It's a nice lesson for growing in maturity: draw from the lessons you've learned from your past, and you will discover that they've actually given you great strength. |
I try to be mindful of the things I read, the shows I watch, the music i listen to. Too much negative input puts me in a bad mood. In particular, I avoid all but the science and business-related news. I listen to classical music during my morning commute. That way, I arrive at work calm and ready to deal with whatever is thrown my way. |
1 Attachment(s) This morning, I awoke from a sound sleep with a fantastic new idea... Today shall be the day, that I'll change my phone's ringtone to that of a rooster's crow. Perhaps I've gone mad. |
Go for it. Should be fun for a while, lunar. |
I was going through photos from years ago when I was in Paris, and of course I thought of you when I saw this J. :) It's a bit small....hope you can see it. https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-w...o/2016%2B-%2B1 |
Hi peoples, was window shopping and thought I would drop in. Life changes- yep. So many of them all at once. Any one is often deemed a stressful life changing event that needs extra effort to deal with. Stuff like death, NDE, pain, depression, alcoholism- obviously, divorce, severe physical trauma and body image disfigurement, PTSD and so on. I have found, just given my history since each and all effects my every moment- waking and in nightmares. So I let all the bad stuff wash over me. I actually imagine myself as a rock being washed over by the ocean. Once the water recedes- I am still there. Of course I imagine myself to be a great big tough rock. Balance, HALTS, meetings, art, SR -anything and everything. Some days are very spiritual while others are so very hards in facing. I always do. Not all crap- but certainly life changing. |
Welcome to the thread, PhoenixJ :) |
Lunar, it's a great idea. Haha. :) That really would be fun to wake to, I think. For a little while anyway. Roosters are as funny-looking as hippos. |
Suze, it is a car manufacturer? I Googled. That is really cool. I must go to Paris someday. Let's go to Paris on your next trip. :) |
