looking for movies I'm looking for movies like Requiem for a dream these movies help so much in hard times. |
Hi jorik there are any number of 'watch online free' sites on line that will have it I'm sure.... Google it we can't link to them here as most of those sites are a little murky when it comes to copyright :) D |
Have you ever seen "What Dreams May Come"? |
thx , but I'm just asking for movie names in the same "addiction category" |
no never saw it. I'll give it a try |
Check out "Days of Wine and Roses'. it's a very old movie but it was so moving, I remember it like I just saw it. The ending is extremely moving. John |
no worries. my bad Jorik :) D |
thank you both ... even if its a great movie at 1962 :) |
Trainspotting. |
Also, Leaving Las Vegas. There's a scene in the beginning that is so accurate, it's terrifying. |
Haven't seen it. It looks like something I would like so I'm going to see if it's on Netflix. They are not about addiction but have you seen Stay and Now you see me? |

Flight with Denzel Washington |
My husband and I watched, When A Man Loves a Woman, last night. good movie. Recommend it. |
Jesus Son starring Billy Crudup |
Netflix doesn't stream Requiem so I had to order it. It had more movies like this and The Machinist came up. That was a dark movie but it was good. Soberwolf What dreams may come was an awesome movie. |
If you like Requiem, try "Candy" with Heath Ledger, an Australian film about heroin addiction. I agree that "Leaving Las Vegas" is a good choice, dark but excellent. "Melancholia", the Lars Von Trier film, is incredible, while not strictly about addiction it deals with severe depression (and its an incredible movie). I highly recommend getting Netflix, if you don't have it already. There is so much great stuff on it that is helpful. You can watch the series Drugs, Inc., Intervention, Addiction, plus lots of just plain terrific movies to get you through tough times. I pay $7 a month and watch stuff on my Kindle Fire. I have Amazon Prime too, and their content is improving. If you like classic film, try "Long Days Journey into Night", another addiction film, and "The Man with the Golden Arm". |
'Flight' can be streamed for free, google it.. About an alcoholic/coke-head pilot (Denzel Washington). Also: Wolf of Wallstreet Bad Lieutenant Drugstore Cowboy |
Recently watched "The Anonymous People", a documentary about the recovery movement. |
