Now that I've slept on it, and the shock has worn off, I can see things more clearly.
I think Nuudawn has hit the nail on the head, I don't think she can socialise without drinking.
When I look back she always had a drink in her hand at parties even when most people weren't drinking. It was like she didn't know what to do with her hands if she wasn't holding a drink. Not that I have talking room, I used to be the same.

As for contacting her, which was my initial reaction, now I have to agree with Doggonecarl.
This particular "friendship" is over.

Count it all joy. At least she is putting her cards down on the table instead of simply ignoring you. Just understand you didn't do anything wrong to make her feel that way. Quitting is what's good for you and your life. That should come first over what other people want or expect from you.

@Talana
Seems you have gained some insight into what really happened here. What your friend said is not about you at all: It speaks volumes about where she is. I don't mean to judge her, for I have been exactly who she is. During my drinking days I found non-drinkers intolerable. I said it was because they were dull or stuffy or no fun at all. The real truth was that their abstinence reflected just how out of control I had become. For years I kept changing "friends," although by the end I really didn't have many of those. Whatever associates I had were for the purpose of drinking. Clearly she sees you as a sober person. Maybe one day she will ask you how you did it.

Well said starflyer, my recovery should come before what anyone expects if me.
Thank you all you have all given me a different perspective on it.
I agree with what you have to say.
:thanks
