Wow... thank you guys so SO much for all of your tips and encouragements... I've made it all day without a drink and now it's too late to get one! :D :D

Day one behind me... and I'm so excited...

Gawd I hate the sweats and shakes and gut-wrenching cravings...

But I hate the alternative even worse...

Tomorrow I am absolutely determined to get to a meeting.

I'm off work all day so I know that's a recipe for disaster when those intense cravings come barging into my gut...

I'm lucky in that I live in a dry county and I have to drive thirty minutes to get to a beer store... but I also have money in my pocket and gas in my car...

Pray for me that I'll have the strength to make it through day two...

I'll let yall know how the meeting goes..

Thanks again.

I'm so glad I've found this forum. :)

Sometimes on line is just not as effective
as having your own literature.

Yes....you too can recover....

I just wanted to repost CarolD's recent post and include the link previously posted by laurie6781....:

http://aa.org/pdf/products/p-15_Q&AonSpon.pdf

I realize this isn't a very 'original' post, but I thought having both these things together in one place might make things a bit easier (and I'm all for easier).....also note that once you bring up this PDF 'pamphlet' you can save it to your computer, so that you'll have it with you at all times (at least, all times you're with your computer.....LOLOL).

....and like CarolD says, "Yes....you too can recover!"

Debs -

Just remember how you're feeling right now -

you don't ever have to go through this again.

Keep coming back!

Havin a bad moment.. :(

Almost through day two and all I can think about is getting myself a drink....

I hate this thing more than anything else in the world.

it passes.

The feeling passes.

It's just 'body talk'.
Youre into 'mind talk' right now.
The body ... is in the mind.

Go to your meetin' - you can do this.

*hug*
