I think the 12 Steps of AA are to be used
in the order they were written.
When I did that...the answers came.
What step are you on Hope?
4&5 deals with guilt and firgiving yourself.
Then... here is
9. Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.
