I'm new here and feel rather uncomfortable responding, but I do have an opinion concerning this issue. Rehabs are only tools. It's what "You as an individual" choose to learn from the experience that will help. I don't believe going to a rehab is a bad choice for an addict or Alcoholic. But I also don't think it will be a determining factor in success.

The fact that people go back to their old ways after leaving a rehab just means their Illness has failed them, not the rehab.

I don't think rehab would be for everyone, but I'm CERTAIN it's helped alot of people. If someone is down, and NEEDS to get away....rehab could be the SMARTEST choice they make in their lives.

Right now, so early in my recovery, I know I cannot focus on how many others have failed. I can only focus on what I must do to stay a winner.

Sometimes negative thoughts come into my head (I've had more than my share of them today) But I try to let them pass quickly, and work through them to a more positive outlook.

Don't jump in that hole!! Stay here with us!!!!
