I grew up in an abusive household..both parents are ACOA..so I grew up with that stuff and was attracted to verbally abusive men..
I will give my dad credit though..He got help..he got lots of therapy, divorced my mom and now is in a second marriage and is a good husband and trying to be a good father..
I've forgiven for his part..but he had to work hard at changing..
unfortunately my ex bfs are not there yet..they weren't ready to give up their childhood wounds and held onto the anger..
guess that's why I pray for them..and I'm relieved I'm not with any of them..
