I'm sorry for your pain, but you are very lucky that this is a 4 month relationship versus a marriage or years on the roller-coaster.
Please consider this a blessing in disguise. It really sounds like he is an incredibly shadey character with probably many secrets. You can bet the bank that there is PLENTY about him that you do not know.
My pastor at our church knows his history and is going to sit him down and make him sign a contract to pay it back. He has a lot of respect for our pastor and I'm hoping this will take care of it.
Bad as it is, I would never count on seeing this money again. There is always small claims court if he does not commit to this contract. Either way though, think of it as the best $2500 you ever spent. I wish you much happier, healthier relationships in your future.
