I've had the hardest time recognizing my self criticism. It doesn't come in words. I was just sitting here reading this and trying to figure it out and the best I can come up with is that I just always give myself the "look". You know that look you get from your parents when they are unhappy with you. No words with it, just the look.
I think that's what I do to myself constantly. It's hard to figure out and hard to counter act. And no, I'm not the kind of person that is going to go look in the mirror and look nice at myself.
