I went to the store this morning to buy provisions and the smell emanating from the man in the queue ahead of me was almost palpable. Tobacco and skunk breath. Skunk as in weed. It's funny how it made me wretch yet that would have been me on so many occasions. All my senses, with the exception of dress, have notably improved since kicking tobacco into touch.
I'm slowly regaining my fitness since ditching the booze and fags, and now I'm broadening my horizons. I'm heading out to do a 330km through hike on Monday. Carrying my tent and my food and just disappearing into the Scottish wilderness for a solid three weeks of hiking. I wouldn't have dreamt of doing it if I was still on the fags. It feels like I'm getting my life back.
