Sounds very familiar. I’ve seen my AH do that many times. He’s been sober for 2 months today , longest stint of sobriety in 7 pls years. What I can’t figure out is why he’s not proud of it. I barely mentioned it one day , bc our daughter had asked me his long and he just mumbled “ yeah”. I’d love to congratulate him in our family group chat ( just us and our kids ) today on the 2 months but I have a feeling that it won’t go over well, so I don’t think I will. Isn’t that strange though? It’s almost as if he wants to completely forget that the last decade happened at all.
Two months is great but that first year is pretty tough.
His emotions are probably all over the place. He probably can't deal right now with what he has done in the last decade.
Best to just leave him to it and take care of yourself.
