18 (19!) days is fabulous. It is amazing how quickly the good effects rack up. Chiming in late, but I wanted say just a few weeks in (28 days) I've already noticed:
- While not 100%, sleeping is 100% better.
- More importantly, I think definitely that the sleep I am getting is better as I'm not tired so much during the day/needing a nap. Also, dreaming has returned! (Not always a positive, but it does mean the REM sleep I was missing is coming back).
- My mental acuity and concentration is much better. Day flies by and I am absorbed in my work (hard to manage when hungover).
- GERD isn't 100% gone, but again, 100% better. Acid reflux was waking me up multiple times per night if I didn't take something before I went to bed. Now, I'm not taking anything and only having occasional, intermittent issues.
- No nail biting! That is actually a huge sign for me that my anxiety is much lower since I have been an anxious nail biter all my life. I always notice that my nails grow when I am sober.
- Significantly less bloating--face looks thinner and clothes fit better.
- Resting heart rate is down significantly. Was in the mid-80s while drinking.
- And while weight loss isn't my immediate focus (I have gained over 20 pounds this last round of heavy drinking--I can't call it COVID weight anymore), I have lost 5 pounds while allowing myself to eat more sweets than I do normally.
