Been absent from AL’s thread of late
I like the NASA pic and one liner, Bimini. We spend a lot of money looking at distant galaxies, and even I as a science teacher sometimes ask why. That star is 16000 light years away. If we went to WR20 today and could see Earth, the view would be from the year 14000BC! It’s far away, and I’m not really sure we need to know all this 🤣 I much prefer the Earth’s movement around the sun, its tilt that causes the seasons and the fact the Earth moves slightly faster in January. I enjoy teaching that geeky stuff but less so about a distant galaxy moving away or towards us.
